I've read a lot of books on ketosis this one is Art.
I've read many books on the subject. Last year I did a 3 month "keto run" where I simply didn't eat carbs. I didn't know anything about keto just no carbs. I felt amazing, and fat just melted away, around 36lb.. however, I did have a lot of trouble with constipation, and bad breath. I didn't know that's not supposed to happen, hence my second attempt was from an educated approach.Anyways, this book painted a wonderful picture of the WHY. Taking you back 3.4 million years ago. Or more. It was a wonderful introduction to get you focused on why it our body not only prefer fat as fuel but how we thrive on it. How our species crawled from the bottom of the food chain to masters of this planet. (Unfortunately the destroyers of this planet as well). So much is covered without bogging you down with the science. A little bit is referenced, enough to allow you to wing out and do your own research. It was informative and makes a lot of sense. They want us to believe that fat is bad... But why then do I feel amazing, melt fat away, and look healthier? I get my blood work done every three months btw.What she's saying just makes sense, and is easy enough to try out for yourself. Try it. Give it a mont and see what happens. It's life changing if you educate yourself on this nutritionial style, our original way of eating.Funny note.I read how not to diet, which I thought was a very good book and had a lot of really good information in it. However it was pushing the vegan nutritionial way of eating. It didn't jive well with me. Having reached the end of the book you see a picture of the author. The dude looks sick.. like unhealthy.Try looking up a picture of Nora. She looks like a dam goddess. Very healthy.Just a little something to think about.

Nora's books have changed my life!
THANK YOU NORA! I loved Primal Body Primal Mind first. Have read it three times and used it as a reference many more times. So much information! I researched on my own for 13 years in a quest to "cure" my methylation issues brought on by a lifetime of "healthy low fat, whole grain, high fruit diet". Both healthy parents died of Alzheimer's and cancer. Genetic testing revealed my issues, but doctors said sorry, no cure. Tried paleo. No change. Tried low carb, high protein. No change. An easy, written, detailed plan was what I needed. Primal Fat Burner is it! I needed more fat, lots of good fat! Also lower protein comsumption, .5 gram per pound of body weight. Who knew? After a thirteen year war, victory! Incredibly, on day two, I felt different. Full of energy, no cravings, satisfied, calm, and craziest of all, 6 pounds lighter in 7 days with greatly reduced inflamation. I have not lost a single pound in five years of strict protocol adherence. GET THIS BOOK! FOLLOW THIS PLAN! LIVE THIS QUALITY OF LIFE! Nora, I think you have saved my life. Thank you!

Amazing Information
I am half-way through reading this. I also purchased the Primal Body book, but haven't read that one yet. I was anxious to get started with a high fat (keto) diet because of previous things I heard about it for health. But I wanted to research it further and more in depth. I watched a video interview with the author, Nora, and I immediately purchased her books. I feel that this book goes way beyond the average Keto information typically found on the web. I was familiar with some of the info in this book, but I discovered much more new info that I didn't know. With the info that she provides in this book, I feel confident that I can do the diet plan (in the book) with ease because my questions are answered. I am a few days into the diet program outlined in the book. I feel slight positive changes already, as if my body says "yes eat this way", but I don't feel "fat adapted" yet.... apparently that takes several weeks to accomplish. But I am encouraged and excited about this new way of eating and thinking about food. I can post an update later when I have more to share about how it is going for me. I feel that there is very valuable info that I would encourage everyone to check into. Especially if someone is already interested in a Keto diet, good health, or learning more about healthy fats and other nutrients. I am really really happy that I purchased Nora's books! I think she is brilliant!

Mostly excellent... a few problems
Makes strong argument for animal fat/protein as the core human dietary blueprint, by reviewing evolutionary history and patterns. I cant imagine anyone reading this and then deciding they should follow this misguided/idiotic trend toward whole food plant based diets that systematically exclude health animal foods. It's put together well and well thought out. I did find the recipes mostly useless and would prefer content instead.Also, a few problems...She contends that protein should be limited because excess will be turned into glucose. But seems gluconeogenesis is strictly demand driven, so this seems blatantly wrong.She also dismiss fasting with a hand wave, which makes no sense.No mention of glycine/methionine balance.No mention of cyclical ketosis.

Excellent book well researched and clearly written. Fat is the friend not the foe - curb the carbs instead.

NÃO APENAS MAIS UM TÍTULO ENTRE MUITOS SOBRE O TEMA. ORIGINAL, BEM ESCRITO...VALE O INVESTIMENTO!
Este é o segundo livro que leio sobre este tema. Iniciei esta dieta há três meses e estou maravilhado com os resultados; principalmente os do primeiro mês. A Autora, que é nutricionista, viveu um período no Polo Norte junto ao povo Inuit, compartilhando com eles os hábito alimentares mantidos por séculos. O resultado é que curou-se de males crônicos que a acompanhavam de longa data. A partir desta experiência, ela realizou pesquisas e apresenta neste livro o enfoque onde o homem na sua origem era um ser cetogênico. O homem foi "desenhado" para viver esta dieta e ao afastar-se dela passou a enfrentar muitos problemas. O livro tem a marca de quem viveu, foi longe, viu bastante, estudou consideravelmente, digeriu o aprendizado e o transformou em ensino. O livro vale até mesmo para quem não pretende fazer uma dieta como essa.O único ponto fraco, ou talvez forte, é que a Autora é muito restritiva a diversos tipos de alimentos, ao contrário de outros autores que os admitem nesta mesma dieta. Eu teria alguma dificuldade se fosse seguir a Autora à risca. Fora isso, o livro é excelente!

Fantastic book
I absolutely agree with Nora. And my current diet is evolving in the same way, through trial and error, using feedback from my body to keep me on track. I love the summary at the end when she says the Inuit's primary diet is meat and good fats. This is now the basis of my diet, and my health and well being is improving all the time. I am grateful to Nora for writing this book.
