Best thing that happened to me since the invention of GPS :)
I'm constantly amazed that some dried plant matter can work so well and leave my hair so soft and healthy looking. I'm not touching the products of the chemical industry ever again, I swear.I just mix shikakai, amla, and aritha powder in about 2:1:1 proportion in boiled rice water. Plus a couple drops of essential oils. That's it. My hair looks very good for at least 3-4 days, and I can stretch it further with some dry shampoo (cocoa powder for the win here, no bottled dry shampoos can compare). Coloring - henna +indigo + cassia + some amla. The results are amazing, do yourself a favor and try that.

Shikakai: Great hair strengthener
So far I think I like this. I am experimenting with this powder in combination with henna, brahmi, aritha, neem based on what I have discovered researching how to strengthen and grow hair from videos on youtube. After the initial use of the combined powders to treat my hair, I noticed significant amount of less hair-fall. That was interesting. I will continue using. Delivery was great- lightening speed. Packaging in mint condition, no issues. Appeared to be a good quality product.

Works well in combination with Aritha powder
I use this to wash my hair. My hair is waist length, fine, blonde, pin-straight. It's moderately oily and I wash it every 2 or 3 days without an issue. I'm allergic to normal shampoos and conditioners and tried this as an alternative. Using shikakai powder alone did not clean my hair very well. It stayed odd and greasy-looking after I rinsed and dried. However, using this combined with aritha powder seems to do the trick. Aritha powder was too harsh on its own, but combined, I get clean and healthy hair! I use about a teaspoon of each and make a runny paste. I rub the paste into my roots and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing. You have to rinse thoroughly or you might notice some grains of powder falling out of your hair once it's dry. I haven't had a problem with this, though. I like to follow up with a vinegar rinse (maybe 1-2 teaspoon of vinegar to 16 oz of water) and my hair loves it. Without the vinegar, I feel my hair gets a tad dull using just the powders. I've not noticed any darkening or color changes using this method.I normally use baking soda to wash my hair. I must say, baking soda does a better job and my hair seems to prefer it. But I want to color my hair, so this is my second option to protect the dye job.

And it is growing like weeds.
I am a Black women with 4C hair. I mix this with Alma, bentonite clay, cayenne powder and apple cider vinegar followed by a deep coconut conditioner .. This has been a godsend! I haven't used shampoo in about to months, but my hair has never been so clean and manageable! And it is growing like weeds .. I wish I could have found years ago. LOVE IT!!!

worth the mess
I use it instead of shampoo, Works good just messy and hard to really get in there. I will still use it to cleanse hair once a week but use shampoo once a month

this product makes your hair shine! it leaves it soft and moisturized. After 1 or 2 weeks of use, everyone noticed the difference in my hair :) the application is a bit messy, but if you need to treat your hair from chemicals or damage, this is the product!

Love Ayurvedic Products!
After buying this online, I realized the item can easily be obtained at my nearby Indian grocery store for much less. I use this product for my hair along with awla, neem and aritha to wash my hair. I dont use any shampoos !

Good shampoo, just make sure you strain it first!
Nearly burned my eyes out after getting this in my eyes! I had never used this type of powder for shampoo before so I know that it was user error when I did not strain the mixture first. The nut grains got into my eye and I felt as if I were going blind but after rinsing my eye with running water for about 10 minutes I regained the ability to open my eye, without assistance from my hands, and see again. The shampoo does work, it left my hair feeling very cleansed and not stripped.
