The Book of Runes: Interpreting the Ancient Stones

I was really excited about these runes. They are indeed a very nice set. Upon receiving this item, I opened the package and became instantly disappointed. The runes were all out of place as if it had been returned by a customer. The velvet pouch looked as though someone stuffed it in there and one of the runes were severely chipped. I really hate I have been dealt a bad deal, but I am hopeful they will start handling their products much better.

If you like runes and their meaning, or reading them, or just getting in touch with them and maybe even your Northern European heritage....then this book might be for you.Not a big book, but well done, with great quality paper, pictures and information. I look at it almost everyday. I would recommend for rune enthusiasts!

Very Informative Book Plus We'll Made.

This book is a simple read, and easily understood. I have read approximately 34 pages currently (i have had the book 1 day, and i am not a heavy reader). There is a lot of information, from Rune origins, how other cultures inspired or used a variation of the runes, a little information on the gods, and good information of the runes!

This was a gift to our granddaughter and she loved it! She has wanted it for awhile and loves this gift!

An excellent book with many pictures and lots of information!

the book arrived in great condition for the price that i paid. very illustrative. gives examples of many different types of runic alphabets. i would definitely recommend this book for people just starting out in rune history and lore.

The book is well written and easy to read. The rune stones are beautiful.

Not to be confused with the Ralph Blum book of the same name. I am relatively new to the study of the runes, having only a couple of books on the subject, but the subject has definitely gripped me, and if like me you are at the beginning of your runic journey, I suggest this is a good place to start. The format is hardcover, which I prefer (I find hardcovers very hard to come by) with exellent colour pictures and illustrations. The reader is given a good background of runic history, creation etc. The author then goes on to how to read and learn the runes, and further how to craft your own runes, choosing the material, etc. Reversed rune meanings are also covered, albeit briefly. There is also a section on rune magic, meditations, blessings, talismans, and bindrunes.This book is by no means a definitve study, I daresay it's not meant to be, but it is presented in an easy to read style and each section is well contained and easy to refer to.In summary a good starting point and as my runic library grows, as I am sure it will, this tome will always take pride of place, my favourite runebook so far...
