My initial thoughts, after my first use. (UPDATED!)
I am disabled with chronic illness/pain, and therefore haven't bothered with fake tan in years. I also can't control my temperature, so I swing between being freezing cold, to having multiple hot sweats. I also can only manage a shower about once a fortnight, so can't use one of those fake tans that you have to wash off in a certain time. I'm also not keen to use fake tans, as 99% of them contain chemical DHA, which has been shown to have some scary health implications, especially the sprays and mists, when they get into your eyes, nose and are breathed in.This year, my health has been worse than ever, and I have literally had about 2 hours in the sun! (it's 25th June!).Anyway, I just REALLY wanted to feel a bit tanned.....I'm soooo pale and ill looking, and I don't bother with make up either.So....after many wasted hours of reading up about fake tans, I decided to go for it, and try a tanning water, which is a new concept for me.I rang the White to Brown company (now called Way to Beauty), and a human being answered straight away! (Impressive!).She was able to answer all my questions too, although I was shocked when she confirmed that this make uses chemical DHA, and not naturally derived DHA. I think that is very misleading of them, as their description of these products leads you to believe that they use all natural products! She also said that they don't do a "light" coloured version.....only medium and dark. I've noticed that, with many of the fake tans!So....I made the decision to get this tanning water!I couldn't wait to try it out, although I must admit, rather foolishly, I didn't do a patch test. I have sensitive skin, get heat rash all year round, and have allergy prone skin around my eyes. My cosmetics, moisturisers etc are either perfume free or have a very light perfume, as I'm sensitive to strong smells too! All in all, I'm not a very good candidate for using fake tan! 😅I exfoliated my face and neck earlier in the day, and used no moisturiser, as instructed.I didn't want to risk inhaling the DHA or getting it in my eyes or on my lips, by spraying it on my face, so I also bought a tan applicator brush, which I used for my face....dipping it lightly in a dish, in which I'd sprayed a few sprays of the tanning water. I lightly went over my face, neck and collar bone area. That was it! Nice and quick! It probably took 20-30 minutes before I felt that the tan water was dry on my skin, but it still felt tacky. I suffer badly with insomnia, due to pain, so was awake a lot of the night. Surprisingly, my face still felt tacky throughout the night, there was the coconut perfume, which wasn't too strong, as I hadn't actually sprayed it. What was a bit concerning though, is that on the areas that I had applied it, my skin did feel irritated.Come the morning, I hardly dare look in the mirror! LolThe sight was rather shocking, as I have a deep tan on the areas where I had applied it. So deep in fact, that for the very first time, I noticed two neck wrinkles which I've never noticed before! (I'm 57) 😳 I live alone, so have nobody to get an opinion from. There is a vast difference between my face/neck colour, and my arm!! I didn't want it to be this dark, but I must admit, that it is nice to have some colour, even though my nose is a bit too brown, and the inside of my eye is white, where I missed a bit! I think it would have been a lot worse if I had have sprayed it!The disappointment came, after I had another look, after my morning wash, using JUST tap water! An area had rubbed off on my forehead!! So now I have a kind of mottled looking forehead! My collar bone area does look a bit irritated, so I'll have to keep an eye on it. Overnight the coconut perfume wore off and you do get that fake tan smell, which so far, has lasted all day.Positives:- it doesn't appear to transfer to fabrics- it certainly DOES give you a deep tan, but that might not be what you wanted, if you are very pale, like me.- Spray tan, so easier to do your back- Customer service that you can telephone and speak to someone!Negatives:- Very misleading information about it being natural, when it uses the chemical version of DHA!- Rubbed area off on my forehead after washing my face once!- Too dark to look natural on a very pale person, although that's obviously personal taste (no Light version available)- Scented- Possibly not good if you have sensitive skin- ExpensiveUPDATED: (1-3 days after application)REALLY disappointed with this. In my experience, it's useless!I bought the "Sensitive" version of Micellar water specifically to use whilst using this tan, as I knew it would be a gentle way of cleaning my face. Even wiping gently, with a cotton wool pad, the tanning water just comes off randomly, leaving your face blotchy....some bits still tanned, others almost completely white! The first time I cleansed my face (before the Micellar Water arrived), I literally used just tap water....and that rubbed off too, when I dried my face! What are you supposed to do!After initially reading hours of reviews, fake tan, no matter how expensive or cheap, does seem to be hit or miss, with different people, so maybe this will work for someone else, but it's certainly didn't work for me.

Nice tan
The first time I used it, everyone thought I'd been abroad, but after that it looks more natural, would recommend
