Expressive illustrations really boost the story.
I read the original text chapter books of these series when I was younger, and it's really nice to see these updated in graphix form. My daughter is nearly 5 and loves these books. While Karen can be ceeky and naughty sometimes she is very realistic, and here being nervous about getting glasses is something a lot of kids could relate to, as well as having to deal with name-calling.Katy Farina does a great job illustrating the story, making Karen so expressive and really makes for cute story.

Perfect for my 8 year old
This series follows the same story line as the books of my youth but is now in a comic/illustrated format like so many of the youth books now. This was the perfect level for my 3rd grader who is an average reader. With the format and content it drew her in and I didn’t have to “fight” to get her to read nightly. I have already ordered several more in the series and will continue to do so!

Great reboot of an older series
I loved this series when I was younger. My 8 year old loves graphic novels I figured I would buy this for her. She is constantly re-reading this book which makes it worth it for me!
