The pump quit all together today, after 3 months of use. After inspection, I found that the center magnet spins on a ceramic shaft that was broken. From the internal damage and wear inside the pump. I would say it was broken from day 1 and this is also why it was so loud right from the start. Now I'm stuck with a defective pump I guess? The pump works great so long as it is submerged under water. Out of the water its super loud and it leaks from around the pump quite a bit. If you plan on putting this in your pond, then it will work and it will move a lot of water, but those poor fish will be dealing with a loud and vibrating pump. My application was for having it out of the water, i put it in a sound insulated box to cut the noise down, but it still leaks and it's pretty much useless for my application without reinventing the wheel

Pump was in pond for 3 months before it seized up. Even with filter adapter attached it quit. I measured all pump restrictions before purchase to make sure it was inside required parameters but it still didn't last. Very dissatisfied with this pump. I have had pumps that have run for 3 years, I chose this one over Tetra, now I regret my decision.

Very nice product, good power, great price. Easy to use.

My old one broke after 3 years, it was a lot quieter than the new one. Hope this one will last as long. Everything works fine.
