Works great and a high degree of compatibility with legacy software. This brand and Startech are my go to for parallel ports!.

The Parallel adapter I received installed and worked fine with no issues.

i ordered this to use on a customers computer that is using some very old legacy printers and software. my only complaint is it does not come with a low profile bracket. because of the lack of the low profile bracket it became my second choice for a adaptor card. i ended up ordering this adapter card because my first option "competitor product" failed a few days after installation. fortunately the competitors bracket fit perfectly on this card. i had no issues installing and configuring this card. best of all my customer is happy they can still use their old printers. this was installed on a clean win7 32x with all updates installed as of nov-2019. the adaptor card works great

This just worked, plain and simple.I installed it, fired the computer up and windows 10 detected it and installed it with zero effort. I didn't have to download or install any drivers. This was used to connect a datamax label printer that only had a parallel connection - on a new machine that didn't have a parallel port.Btw - the dongle that was required for the printer to work with the installed software was detected by the card and worked perfectly too.Highly recommended instead of dealing with a usb to parallel or whatever type of adapter cable and dealing with the manufacturer's drivers. I've found these cards work about 90% of the time while the adapter cables work about 30% of the time.

I have a Hewlett Packard LaserJet 1100 printer and wanted to use it with my new Dell Inspiron 3910 PC running Windows 11. The adapter installed fine and the software created a LPT1 printer port in Windows. I did a successful printer test page. However, after rebooting the PC it encountered problems. I called Dell technical support and after numerous tests they decided there was a memory problem. A Dell technician came to my house and did further troubleshooting. The PC worked fine after he removed the SIIG adapter. Evidently the adapter is not compatible with Windows 11 or this PC.

Previously bought two of these, in order to allow us to continue using some older, but very capable HP Laserjet printers when we upgraded to newer computers that didn't have the old style printer ports on them. They work great, and this was a very cost effective move, much cheaper than needing to buy new laser printers. Therefore, have just now bought another one for use with a third PC that I recently bought. Am very glad these parallel printer cards are still available. Highly recommend.

I bought the SIIG Single Parallel Port PCIe card for use with a Dell Optiplex 9020 running Ubuntu18.04. I missed the note about card not supported for Linux. The lspci -v command indicates that the card uses io address 0xe010 and IRQ 10. I found a web example for creating a file named parport_pc.conf in the /etc/modprobe.d directory containing the single line “options parport_pc io=0xe010 irq=10” which appears to work well with my HP Deskjet 712C printer after rebooting. The five pages of included Linux driver documentation were mostly for serial devices but there are 6 brief comments indicating how to set up a parallel device on page 3 .
