No, it is not for pain relief. It is for a direct application of magnesium to muscles, tendons and nerves. Direct is far better than systemic (oral) magnesium. For tendonitis, it is fantastic, as tendonitis is commonly caused by low magnesium. Absolutely love this product. I've even given away a couple bottles to family who needed it. It helps me get to sleep at night when the joint pain prevents me from keeping still.
