Excellent set good sound and price fast delivery
Excellent set good price and sound fast service. The spindles that hold the CDs inside the case we’re broken in loading CDs at manufacturers. This is becoming more common on multiple CDs in plastic jewel cases. CDs were fine thankfully.

Mighty Mulligan
This superb collection of early Gerry Mulligan records is remarkably well preserved as a CD set, considering the inclusion of two historic 10 inch LPs that became "The Gerry Mulligan Quartet" Volumes 1 and 2 (1952-3). I came across his music when I bought an album recorded in December 1956 at 'Storyville' in Boston. It was simply titled "The Gerry Mulligan Quartet" and blew me away from the first track "Bweebida Bwobidda", with the wonderful Bob Brookmeyer on valve trombone, Bill Crow on bass, and Dave Bailey on drums. Gerry Mulligan played piano as well as tenor saxophone. This rare album appears here as part of disc three, so obviously I bought the set and have discovered the other remarkable jazz on offer. Disc one, which includes the Paris Concert of 1995, contains over 80 minutes of beautiful music - and that's just the start. Chet Baker is on hand, as well as Lee Konitz, Zoot Sims, Red Mitchell, Chico Hamilton, and Annie Ross among other luminaries. It's worth noting that Mulligan wrote many memorable pieces, and he was a fine pianist as well as saxophonist. You will get over five hours of music here, with no low spots.

This four-disc set is a great introduction to Chet Baker's singing and horn-playing. Recommended.

Chet Baker's the Pacific Jazz Collection
Chet Baker - 5 stars Packaging of four CDs - 0 stars.Difficult to get plastic CD box out, resulting in tearing cardboard holding it, which I would have liked to keep; broken spindle inside causes two CDs to fall out when opening. No embedded notes on song tracks. (I copy all my CDs to Zune, my personal music player, which adds song titles to the section and cover information.) Would like another case, but anyway it's Chet, and along with Bix, are the classic horn players.

Sounds fine. Documentation not best.
Its a nice value. Documentation of what albums are on each disc could be more clear. Not just small print inside pamplet.

Great albums - but terrible liner notes which don't list personnel - not even a mention of the great Art Farmer!!!
