Tried sharpie first, did not work.
Tried a sharpie oil based pen as some youtubers suggested it immediately cracked and would rub off with the slightest touch. This is holding up MUCH better. Been on for a month now and looks like the day i applied.A bit expensive, but well worth not doing the tedious job of pulling wheels, and painting 42 letters twice.

PATIENCE NEEDED!
I'm going to try to explain every why I gave this product a 1 star review with the most details covered.First off, I'm BRAND NEW to the tire painting game. I went into this project with the difficulty setting HIGH. I looked at a few products before buy this paint pen and decided that this product was fit for a new to the game person.THE PEN. So I thought about half way through that it was operator error, but soon I realized that this pen design is TERRIBLE. The tip of the pen seemed to not fit the tube very well. Now maybe that is by design to help with the paint flow, but if it is then it just let most of the paint come out and fly all over the place when shaking the pen without the cap placed over it.THE FLOW. The tip of the pen seemed to always be dry, I would shake the pent VIOLENTLY up and down like one would a paint raddle can, but like I stated in my previous section, paint flew everywhere and still the tip seemed to be dry. The cap placed over the tip didn't seem to make much difference. I decided to take my tires off and lay them flat to maybe help the flow of the paint, but that didn't make much difference.GRAVITY. It would seem that the angle of the pen is a KEY factor in paint delivery. I initially had my tires on the rotor, but QUICKLY realized that the paint was just running down the tire and not staying in the letters. So I laid my tires on the ground and that seemed to help some.3 COATS. I got two tires applied with one coat and figured that my car would look weird with just two tires painted and two non-painted. I decided to march on and after my first coat I was about fed up with this pen. I did one coat and had enough.OVERALL. My experience with this paint pen was TERRIBLE. Honestly would be easier to tape off my tires and get a spray can or paint brush.

Great product need to know how to use very easy
Hey to be honest everyone i dont know what all the negative reviews are about yall honestly might just be incapable? Ive used this tire ink on my car for almost 6 years and only have had to touch up after winters. What the directions dont tell you (which you should know anyways) temperature matters it should be at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit out or the ink wont flow. When you open the package the tip can be switched around to the round tip (works a lot better) and dont just prime at first and shake at first. You are going to have to prime and shake the pen in between every 1-2 letters. (I like to get a rag or a piece of cardboard to tap the pen tip onto until the ink starts to flow) dont let it flow too much though or it will drip if too much comes out simply wipe the tip once or twice on your rag or cardboard. I usually do 2 coats and it is very vibrant. In between coats let each tire dry for at least a half hour. Quickest way to get it done is do all of the tires one coat and then once you start the second coat the first tire should be dry and continue with the other 3. After all coats are done let the pasint dry over night or it will crack ( if not overnight at least 8-10 hours) one pen lasts me 4-6 coats on all of my tires. If you follow these instructions you should have no issues.

Not the greatest design or price.
VERY little came in one pen. The price is a bit high for what you are getting IMO. In order to barely get 1 coat on just 2 tires, not only did I need to use the whole pen, but I had to break the pen open to get the last bit of paint out, and dip a brush and paint it on myself which was 100X easier, there was a decent amount of paint left in the pen too when it stopped working (enough to do half a tire), so the design is not the greatest either, it's actually terrible IMHO. If it just came in a container or tube that I could dip a brush in, it would be 1000X better and I would probably buy it again, but until then I can't see myself buying this product again. I will say though the paint is holding strong after a month of daily driving, very little has come off.

The pen sucks, 4 stars for the seller though. You need skills to perfect the writing.
1. It's not at all easy as it seems to write with this pen-I received a defective pen at first and almost ruined my new set of tires. But the seller had sent me another pair for free.2. Do not start writing until the paint start flowing through the tip-Push the tip down on a paper or the tire itself before writing (beware of the overflow of the pain if you push the tip down for too long)3. Do not start cleaning/ defining the border of the letters till the paint completely dried out-Give all 3 layers of coats before you clean the borders. Use a sharp object to scratch out the paint that went off the boarders. Use 'acetone' or 'isopropyl' alcohol to clean completely and finally wipe the entire sidewall with tire shine/ cleaner.4. The pen's design seems the problem-If it were like a touch-up paint bottle and a small brush or a nail polish and brush it would have been much easier ad less messy.5. The paint itself isn't that great-It attracts dirt so fast, once it's dried out it feels like a writing with chalk powder. You can scratch it out. There's no glossiness. I wish i could put a clear coat or something on top of it.6. And the most important thing-Its looks undeniyably awesome!! If you grew up a NASCAR or F1 fan like me or at least appreciate the beauty of tattoos, you would definitely appreciate the looks of the tire with the writing. It's so sexy to see 'em rolling!!

Terrible working with this
I tried to fill in some already white letter tires with this pen. the thin and runny nature of the actual paint is really hard to deal with. Says 3 coats on the side of the pen after working for 5 mins to just coat the inside of one letter on already white letter tires with the pen I determined it's not worth spending 2-3 hours to try and fill in the letters on these tires. don't waste your money here.
