GibraltarGBR Back Rest Attachement

I like having the GBR backrest as it makes it easier to quickly find the front of the stool, as when it spins you can find yourself sitting on one of the non-front corners of the stool, with the backrest you always are sitting properly. I think the backrest is a bit overpriced for what it is, but it is sturdy and does the job.As you can see in the pics, it does NOT have the Gibraltar logo on it, not that I care that much, but it does cover the logo that is on the stool which shows pretty poor planning on the design team that put this together. Not that I imagine much thought goes into details like that.Gibraltar probably doesn't see Amazon as an important channel for them, so don't expect a logo on the backrest if you order one, and don't expect Amazon to have an accurate picture any time soon.I do think the 9608HM stool is very good though, but not sure it's enough of a savings over the rock-n-soc. I got my stool used so the price was right, but at full price, I'd go with the rock-n-soc.Be aware that the backrest came with an extra unnecessary piece so at first I was concerned it was the wrong item for my Gibraltar hydraulic stool 9608HM, but the backrest works fine with the stool, just throw away the extra piece which is probably for use with another stool besides the 9608HM.

I have an older Tama throne with a round seat. I have come to appreciate having a back rest when playing and wanted to add one.Though this unit had specific models it said it was good for (which I didn't have) . I was able to easily customize it to fit my throne in about 15 mins.To do it, I put the plate on the bottom of my seat and marked the four holes, drilled 4 holes at 11/32, and installed 1/4-20 insert nuts bought from hd and attached the bracket using 1/4 -20 Thumb screws.Worked perfectly, super adjustable, solid, and it looks good (not that anyone sees it as I'm leaning on it), and is good quality.I'm not saying you can convert any throne, but if you have a wood bottom and space between the supports you should have a good chance at it working.

This seat back is not the one pictured. I have the one that is pictured and it's great, but this one goes straight up and down and just pokes into your back. I can't imagine ANYONE from Gibraltar approving it to be sold. I've been trying for a year or more to get another one like the one pictured, with the slight bend at the top, and they seem to not be in existence. I don't understand why Amazon hasn't taken this misleading product off their sight.

Functionally, it is a home run!. perfect lower lumbar support.My only complaint is that the picture of this back rest shows the "Gibraltar" logo. The back rest I received has no logo on it.I paid top dollar for this. There should be a logo on it.Makes me wonder if it is a genuine Gibraltar product, or just a cheap knock-off.

Performs the job is supposed to. However if I could adjust the upper back rest just a bit more it would get five stars.

It didn’t come with the bolts to attach it to the throne… can’t comment on how it works if it doesn’t come with the parts necessary to attach it

Like so many reviews, I was sent the cheap version and not the Gibraltar GBR. this had a sticker saying GEWA GBR. The back is not like the photograph shown on Amazon. The back rest bar is straight and not bent at the top. It is not comfortable. the back rest pushes you forward and cannot be extended horizontally enough to get comfy. Over priced Taiwan junk.
