Have had many battery powered thermometers and although they are quick, they just don't last.You'll have to wait a few minutes for a reading, but it works every time...and it will last!Working well so far.

Requires a vigorous shake
We have had mixed experiences using the new electronic thermometers so we bought this traditional glass one to use. It appears well made but we had initial reading errors. This was down to a need to shake the thermometer quite vigorously in order to get the reading to below 37 as it was well above this on arrival from Amazon. It did state the need to do this in the instructions and I guess we have seen nurses doing this in the very distant past. So its okay but probably not as easy to use as expected.
