Good results
I’ve set up 3 tanks with this so far. The first one I did ammonia dosing and honestly couldn’t tell you if it was any better or not. The other two I used 1 fish and one reef hermit. The tanks I cycled with the fish were both small 7 gal and 12 gallon, with Carib Sea life rock. Never had any detectable ammonia or nitrite in either tank and had nitrates starting day 2 in one tank and day 3 the other. I will note my ammonia dosed tank had much more algae and was much more “work” the first few months but had a much bigger population of bacteria and was able to take a lot more bioload once it was ready.( 40g breeder). I personally would never use ammonia again. The fish cycle would need a much slower stocking rate and I would add bio Spira with each addition. I feel comfortable recommending this to people as my results have been good but as with anything YMMV.2/12/20 Have finished stocking a 4th saltwater fish only tank after 3 months with this. Starting with 2 fish from day one in a 30 long. Now have 5 fish and never had any detectable ammonia or nitrite (tested daily, salifert and red sea kits) and nitrates within the first few days. I started using this 4 years ago and all fish are still alive and healthy, though I did lose one of my hermit crabs for some reason. But then again I seem to get very long lived pets, I still have a cockatiel from when I was eleven and am now in my forties. Be a sad day when he goes let me tell you. Anyway very happy with this product.

works like a boss
Short story: It worked as advertised (mostly: wait 2-3 days, not instant)Long(er) story:Added to newly setup saltwater aquarium after having cycled for a week with rock (Marco rocks, started dry) with live sand bed at bottom. Tested each day during week, and ammonia was pretty consistent -- ~0.5-1 ppm. After one week (and before adding), ammonia was still relatively high (~.5 to 1 ppm), nitrites were just starting to rise, but barely (~ .25 ppm) -- no detectable nitrates. After adding, tested ~ 4 hrs later with ammonia about the same level. Tested again next morning, ammonia was undetectable with API Marine master test kit (0ppm). Nitrites had spiked very high (somewhere between 2-5ppm, hard to reach color differences on test kit). One day later (3rd morning after adding), ammonia is still reading 0 ppm and nitrites are down to 0.25ppm. Nitrates now read ~10ppm, up from undetectable before.Basically, product works like a boss -- it completed the cycle in ~2-3 days (ammonia --> 0, nitrite spike, then nitrite --> small, nitrates up). I'll continue to test to see if there are any other variances. Two clown fish currently (seemingly happily) reside in tank set up just over a week ago.Other specs: 18 gallon hex tank with 10 gallon sump tank, 2" deep live sand bed, 25 lbs of dry rock added. Few bucks well spent to speed up cycle. Make sure you have ammonia and some nitrates already in tank for bacteria to feed on, or I'll assume you'll be wasting your time and money.

Good stuff
New tank setup: Nuvo Fusion 20, Carib Sea south sea base rock (about 13lbs in tank), CaribSea arag-alive 20lb sand, 75w heater, stock pump, replaced filter socks with the Innovative Marine media baskets w/ just filter floss (polyester) on top tray.Set it up and filled it.I think everything was inert/inorganic because few days after setting up, 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 0 nitrate.Went to Ace Hardware and got some of their ammonia, and dosed till my tank read 1ppm ammonia (10 drops, tank has about 13.5 gallons water). Then put in half the bottle of Bio-Spira to 'seed' tank, since it claims up to 30 gallons (wanted to save half the bottle for when I put the first fish in, just to be safe).24hrs after adding ammonia and Bio Spira, ammonia went down to 0ppm, nitrite went up to 1ppm, and nitrate went up to 20ppm.Around lunch time the next day, nitrite went down to .5ppm, and nitrate went down to 10ppm(?!). (Yes, I vigorously shook the bottles of solution for 30 seconds). I then added another 1ppm of ammonia just to keep the ammonia->nitrite bacteria going, while I wait for the nitrite->nitrate bacteria to get better colonized. Which the way things are moving, should be in few days at most.I also noticed that after 24hrs of adding the ammonia and Bio Spira, my pure white polyester turned into a beige color. Bacteria had already colonized my filter. I'm just hoping they are colonizing that expensive rock and sand, too.

This is a miracle in a bottle!
What I like about this product is it actually cycled my struggling saltwater reef tank. Kicked the cycle in the butt and within 2 days my nitrate cycle was complete. But I don't like about this is how much they gouge you on price. You can seriously buy this product from pet stores when they have it in stock for less than half of what this company or Amazon is selling it for. So I recommend this product if you're in a pinch and you want the product that actually does what it states it does unlike some of these other products on the market which I will not name. Otherwise check your local pet stores and see if they have it in stock and save yourself a bunch of money.

Great product to speed up new tank cycle
Great Product, I had set up my tank with dry rock, I decided to do a fish-less cycle and threw a raw prawn into the tank. I am using theSeachem Ammonia Alert to let me know when Ammonia starts to rise. When the sensor detected levels of Ammonia I added the Bio-Spira into my 65 Gallon tank. less than 24 hours later and the sensor was showing safe. I waited another 24 hours and did a full test of the water and I have no Ammonia, trace Nitrite and 30 PPM Nitrate. Looks like the cycle has completed in little over 48 hours. Recommended.

this worked like a dream
Tried this on a wing and a prayer to do a 'fast cycle' cant believe it actually worked. Tried other products before by another brand that has its own tv show and it didnt work, this worked like a dream.
