150 Skeins of 8m Multi-Color Soft Cotton Cross Stitch Embroidery Threads Floss Sewing Threads

What is there to say about a pile of embroidery floss? Not much, really. I know I'm not the only one who's easily taken in by a color wheel that's ridiculously complete, with shades of every color, so I didn't feel silly about buying this immediately without really thinking it through. But now that's it's sitting right next to me, I can't help but wonder if I've made a huge mistake. I mean, after all, there are SO MANY different colors that it'll make matching them when you need to restock a night—and let's be real, you WILL need to restock. For most of the shades only one skein is included, which means there's a very limited lifespan for each color. For some colors, like white and red (probably more, but that's all I've noticed so far), you'll get two skeins (or at least I did; I don't know if that's typical or not), but for all the other it's multiple single skeins of colors that are very similar, but definitely not perfect matches. That could be something to consider if you're tackling a large project, but if you're a casual crafter like me, it's almost more fun to experiment with all the options.Although this set is a great fit for me, I had to take off a point just because it seems like it'll be difficult to replenish stock of individual colors, should you need more than one skein. JSXD only carries the 100 and 150-piece multipacks, and when I searched the brand name of the thread itself, I didn't get any conclusive results. So it looks like you'll either need to try to match colors as closely as you can with what's available in your local craft store (since you'll definitely need to compare them in person, rather than online), or keep reordering the multipacks and end up with a ridiculous stockpile of beige thread. I mean, c'mon, who's ever gonna use THAT much beige?

But the thread turned fuzzy when gently hand washed. The color selection is incredible, but without DMC/ANCHOR/Gütermann color numbers, these are pretty useless if you're trying to follow a pattern with specific required colors. Which color do you use? Impossible to know.I doubt I will ever use this for anything I'm gifting because of how it washed up. I ended up buying what I needed in DMC. I will probably just use this for practicing stitches.Just know, there are no DMC, Anchor or Gütermann numbers on these skeins.

I needed an assortment of embroidery floss for the amigurumi that I make. This has worked well for me.

Great variety of colors... wish I'd realized how little of each color there was.
