the only redeeming quality is that it's organic
Unfortunately this matcha tastes more like dirt than like tea. If you're a fan of Teavana matcha, this is not for you, this is low grade culinary matcha at best. Pale green, not vibrant, doesn't dissolve well even when you whisk it like crazy with a matcha whisk. This matcha is notcha. At least it's organic. Buyer beware, no returns.

Absolutely love this matcha!
I have tried other matcha powders and this is definitely the best! It has a natural vibrant color and blends so well in my morning smoothies. This matcha provides the delicious green tea flavor without the bitterness I experienced with other matcha powders. I love the energy boost I get when I add this to a smoothie and I can’t wait to try the delicious looking recipes on the Zentei Matcha website!!

My New Favorite!
I have been using green tea matcha powder as a dietary supplement for a couple of years after reading that matcha's strong anti-oxidants and some of its other properties can help as a cancer preventative (I had cancer in 2009). I asked my oncologist about it, and he said it certainly couldn't hurt. So, I dissolve a half teaspoon or so in water and then add iced tea mix, lime juice and ice. I do this every morning. Many of the matcha powders that I've tried have had too strong of a flavor. I really like the Zentei Matcha's taste. It is lighter and a little sweeter than most of the matchas I've tried and it also dissolves in cold water very well. Many of the powders I've tried have formed kind of a sludge on the bottom of my glass and that can taste nasty. The Zentei powder dissolves much better and easier. I've tried several culinary grade matchas and a few ceremonial grade matchas, but the Zentei is by far my favorite.I received a free "starter bag" of Zentei Matcha to try in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, which this is. I did not promise to write a positive review, and the Zentei company did not ask for that. I am genuinely very impressed with this tea and plan to buy a full-size bag very soon.

Excellent green tea powder
Green tea powder is a lot of fun to experiment with. I've added this to oatmeal, milkshakes, made green tea ice cream, and even made green tea malasadas! My latest kick has been Bulletproof green tea. Have you heard of bulletproof coffee? Try the green tea version (makes one serving):2 cups hot water1/2 teaspoon matcha powder1/2 tablespoon butter1/2 tablespoon coconut oilHeat your water just before it boils. Add matcha and whisk until smooth. In a blender, combine the green tea with the butter and coconut oil. Cover and blend for 30-45 seconds on high. The butter and oil will dissolve and there will be a little foam on top (like a latte). Serve hot.Bulletproof coffee isn't exactly tasty and this is only slightly better, imho! But... if you want something with a little less caffeine and a similar energy boost, give it a shot. And of course, if you're wondering about the quality of Zentei's matcha powder, it looks, tastes, and feels legit. The powder is very fine and has a uniform lemongrass green color to it. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. *I received a sample packet for review purposes. Products are judged on construction, quality, value, what they do, and how well they do it.

This is a good starter tea to try
This is a good starter tea to try! I have tried a few matcha teas by now, and I mostly use matcha in smoothies, or in baking, so this particular one is perfect for my needs. This is organic, and is certified organic by the USDA. However, this matcha is culinary grade, therefore considered to be a bit lower grade as far as I know compared to some other ones I have tried. Usually, as far as I know (and I am no expert, but as far as I have read), culinary grade tea is somewhat cheaper than others, and I think here the amount you get is a good value, but I have seen better quality for less. So, hence my 4 star rating for this one. I like the flavor and quality of this tea for my purposes.Sample was provided free of charge for testing and a review.

Matcha Green Tea Powder
I'm in love! This is my first time using Matcha. My husband has suggested it a lot. I made matcha vegan truffles with 1tbl of this mixture. 1 tablespoon goes incredibly far! I am very impressed with the quality. My husband was too.#zenteimatcha We also made some tea, but I forgot to take a picture to share. The truffles we made we incredible! Super delicious. It tasted like the green tea candies you can find some places. Our recipe was simple. The inside was green tea matcha, coconut butter, and 1 tbl or maple syrup. The outside was cocoa, coconut oil, and 2tbl of maple syrup.I highly recommend this product! A little goes a long way!I received this product at a discount for an honest review.

Great Matcha powder for Smoothies and baking
This is a great culinary grade Matcha. I've used it in waffles, smoothies and lattes. It bakes up great and mixes well in the smoothies. A little bit of the bright green powder goes a long way, so there are many uses in this package. It provides a nice energy kick without the jitters. I love that this brand is handpicked in Japan and that it helps me to get extra antioxidants. I plan on doing a Matcha face mask with it next!! **I received this product heavily discounted in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are 100% mine**
