Here for a good time, not a long time
Bought this clothes airer in January to replace an older Argos one that we'd had for about 6 years that had finally given up the ghost. Wife was a bit skeptical having had similar airers before, but reviews seemed good and it was predominantly metal rather than plastic.Served us well enough until one of the metal pins that keeps the unit vertical warped and eventually fell out at mid level meaning the unit couldn't always support itself and would require fiddling with in order to push the warped pin back through the locking holes. Keep in mind we're a family of 2 who only do 1-2 clothes washes a week, so it hasn't exactly seen industrial levels of usage!Second pin warped today rendering the unit inoperable as it now cannot be locked open. Wouldn't advise buying this unless you're quite happy with an airer that has a lifespan of about 3/4 of a year.

Best airer i ever had
I expected something smaller - didnt read the dimensions - but actually im happy that its bigger than i had before, as i can put all my laundry on it without worrying about running out of space. My previous dryer was half of its size, often ended up putting some stuff on the heater or let it hang somewhere overnight to dry.Its very solid, does not feel cheap and overall looks very nice. However on one side the locking mechanism came out dodgy, it requires a bit more effort to lock it and unlock it when setting up or folding but thats alright for me.Dont wanna write a novel, it does what it meant to, looks nice and can take a lot of clothes without worrying about bending the supports.

Brittle / Snapped / Metal fatigue in less than 6 months use
We have two of these and the 1st one is still going strong 4 years later, from this we required one more which we duly purchased. The first 6 months were fine but then we noticed metal fatigue, this has now fully snapped and no longer fit for purpose, its as though it looks like the same product but inferior materials used on the newer versions. We know this is not that expensive in the grand scheme of things but lasting less than 6 months is not on whatever people say we live in a throwaway society. I will not be purchasing this make and model again.Buy at your own expense, not wide enough for towels and certainly does not take a load of towels together. Shame as the old one is still going strong! Sign of the times I guess!

Excellent value for money. Plenty of space.
These are perfect for drying our washing indoors, saves us from having to hang them on the washing line, and we have a spare room we can put them in to leave them to dry. The build quality is good as well, they can accommodate a variety of shirts, jeans, jumpers. etc. You can really get a lot on there. Overall excellent value for money, we've been using this product for over 2 years and not had any problem with it. Recommended.

Quality not as good as older models
I have had the same dryer for 20+ years and it is still going strong - so I bought a new one for a relative. It arrived and one of the pins holding the arms together fell out on opening the dryer up. The locking mechanism also did not work properly.Amazon arranged to send a replacement and I was told I didn't need to send the faulty one back. The next day, a courier arrived to collect the faulty one - which was a surprise as a} the item was at my relative's house and b) I'd been told to throw it away. The replacement opens and closes and the locking mechanism works, but the horizontal bars you hand the washing on are poorly finished at either end. They stick out further than on my original and they are very sharp - so it would be quite easy to pluck or damage silk or rayon items.

thoroughly recommend
I would give it more stars! Its brilliant! Looks strong, and its very easy to put up - just click into place. It will hold two loads of washing easily. Icing on the cake - its made in UK - yay! - by appointment to The Queen, no less! Not bad for the money - thoroughly recommend.

Beware metal snaps
Initially really pleased with this buy however after only owning it since September a metal bar has snapped and it's collapsed. Not ideal on Christmas eve!

Don't overload with heavy things and it'll last longer!
I have had this for 1 year and it is literally on its last legs. Two of the legs on one side completely bent up and the rack would not stand up straight, even after I'd bent them back into place. The legs probably started to get bent after about 6 months or so but I kept bending them back (which meant they became weaker). One of the legs ended up snapping off in the end deeming the item unusable. To be honest though I have given it a year of heavy labour... I do tend to cram at least 2-3 loads of washing on it and maybe the occasional 1 or 2 bedsheets/thin blankets all at once... so it's short life is most probably my fault. Oops... Who knows how many more years of joy this poor little rack would have had had I not subjected it to such abuse. In that case, I would say that it would be best to use this for lighter things or just maybe 1 load of balanced weight washing at a time (a few light things, a few medium things and very few heavy things as opposed to being ramo with everything) and in that case it will probably last you a while longer than it did for me, but if this poor little rack is going to be your only go-to option due to having no washing line or tumble dryer and you tend to do all your washing in one go then you probably need something stronger (if a stronger rack exists), another drying option or just to be a bit more thoughtful (note to self!) by not overloading it with everything and only put lighter things on it. Or just get two. Or a washing line. Oh boy... Anyway! I thought it would be a tad bit stronger though especially for £20. But either way, I don't think these things are made to carry tonnes of washing anyway so be careful.
