Fascinating tale.
If you never read the original tale and all you know is Disney's Peter Pan, be prepared for a completely different mood. Yes, Peter Pan is the kid that didn't want to grow, the lost boys and Wendy are there, but there is a constant sense of tragedy in the novel due to Peter need of love and denial of it.The book is masterfully written, borderline with surrealism, and very vivid imagery.

A near-universal story that may tell us more than we thought we knew about identity and maturation
Barrie's text implores the reader to ask what identity consists of, both in Pan and in Captain Hook. Interesting for any use in pleasurable reading as well as in theoretical work, _Pan_ is a useful text which many know that can be used as a proof text for scholarly work.

Peter Pan
I had only seen a movie of Peter Pan, but the book "Peter Pan and Wendy" is infinitely better. I am taking a course on children's literature, and this was required reading. The book has so many more details, and seems to be written more for adults than children.

Favorite book!
Peter Pan (or, Peter and Wendy, as it's really titled) is my all-time favorite book. I've read it over and over and, just like Peter, it never gets old. When I'm having a bad day, I pick it up and turn to my favorite chapters and it never fails to put a smile on my face.

Good book
It is a very good book but it took over a month to get to me :/ Peter Pan fans will enjoy this but make sure to have patience.

My favorite fairytale
So easy to read over and over again. Barrie takes you to a place you feel you've been before and surrounds you with characters you yearn to hold on to long after closing the final chapter.

Interesting
Well written of course. but I was unsure. I found Peter Pan to be quite abit darker than I expected. Considering its a children's book. Peter is a complex character and Hook comes across as a good deal more evil than I imagined. For adults its excellent, allows you to explore childhood again without regretting growing up.

Peter Pan
I had to read these two books for a class at University.Peter Pan in Kensigton Gardens is wierd. It's good, but not the Peter Pan that everybody knows and loves. It's a baby that lives with some birds and fairies, thinking his mother doesn't love him.Peter and Wendy, however, is quite different. More of an evolved version of Peter from the previous book. It is somewhat different from the Disney book and films, even from the various plays/pantomimes but still follows basically the same storyline. It is a really imaginitive story and concept.Ignore the whispers of J.M.Barrie's personal life and how it comes out in the book because that just ruins the story. It's pretty interesting to see the difference in versions of Peter and that is why this combination book is better.

Whimsical magic
I realised last year that I have never actually read Peter Pan as a book, even though I have seen it many times on stage. I read it with huge enjoyment, and was really struck by the wonderful way in which it is written. The narative is much more dark than I would have thought, but that is not a bad thing, at all.I was engrossed from start to finish

For 'young people' of any age!
A 'must have' for young and old. My wife and I took our great-grandchildren to see Peter Pan as a Christmas play and I thought I should read the story before we went. ....... Absolutely fascinating and really great writing! Both stories in this book come to you as stimulating and enjoyable experiences, recreating a little of the wonderful world of childhood and 'imagination' for 'young people' of any age..
