DIYHD 5FT Frameless Chome Stainless Steel Sliding Glass Shower Door Hardware,No Glass

We remodeled the bathroom in our house right before listing it, so we never actually used the shower after installing this hardware. We already had the matte black shower doors, but we wanted a higher end look for the track and hardware than what came with the shower door. This product fit the bill perfectly. The real estate agent who held the open house said many people commented on how nice and modern the bathroom was and we think this helped us achieve that look. Installation was easy too.

This was a terrible idea. I purchased the product because I figure no one would name it a "Do it Yourself" product if you needed a pro to install it.1. You will need to cut the rod.Good luck with that. I have some powerful tools, but by the time you calculate the correct length, come back and realize that you have to add the length of the two spacers on each end, the rod was all scratched out.2. Do not attempt the holes.Drilling holes in a rod is not for a DIYer nor for the faint-hearted. Even after watching several videos, measuring a thousand times the rod turn ever-so-slightly, and voila - they're off and the glass will no fit. I understand pre-drilling the holes would assign a door hand (right or left), but maybe include an option to do so. If you must, take it to a metal shop - a machine needs to be making those holes.3. The instructions are absolutely NO HELP.I cannot even begin to explain how bad they are. I drew a line when it showed that I would need to get on the "outside of the shower enclosure" to sink a bolt through to the rod. The drawing depicts a free-standing shower enclosure. If i were installing this on a port-a-party bathroom, that might have worked.If you installed an acrylic shower enclosure as I did, make sure there is a wall, hardy board, or a stud behind the wall in the area you plan on installing the shower door.Finally, get a professional to install it. The layout of the glass holes only works if you drill your rod perfectly. It is a lot easier to just pay the cost now, or pay with your sanity later.

We commonly install this unit for 2k+ depending on the layout. Absolutely beautiful unit when done right. Honestly, if I werent a professional I probably wouldnt attempt to install this shower. If you're used to construction and are pretty handy you can probably handle the install but be careful moving the glass. If you hit an edge on the tile the tempered glass can break pretty easy. The weekest part of tempered glass is the edge. We use 3/8" glass for shower installs.

Very good solid material. It is a Do it your self kinda thing. I just needed the stainless steel satin finished pole and you do have to drill your own holes etc if you have the tools and knowledge to do it but, its fantastic solid and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Thanks!!!!

This item made me break a piece of tampered glass in thousand little pieces. Do not try to make a hole in tampered glass, it will just explode and may harm someone. In order for you to use this item, you must order a customized glass from a shop (with all holes already made) which cost an eye of the face. This item would be great if it could be installed without the need of a bunch of holes on glass.

The components seem well made. I used this hardware set on a set of doors that I had purchased before getting the hardware. The glass doors were made for different hardware but worked with what I had. I really liked the hardware. I just had to adapt a little too make it work for my application.

Looks great but this is not DIY this is for glass bussines or pro people and also the temple is hard to understand

I am giving this 3 stars. Why? Pros: Arrived lightning fast. A very good, solid product. Very sturdy, and all moving parts are heavy. No missing parts.Cons: The installation directions are for SH*T!!! I am an above average weekend warrior and needed a custom sliding glass shower door. This hardware fit the bill, and I knew it DID NOT come with the glass. I was prepared to order the glass from a local glass co for the sizes I needed.What a nightmare!!!! The directions are not clear AT ALL of where the correct placement of any drilled holes from the top of the glass in order to "hang" the glass. My glass guy had never seen anything like it. Alas, I am having to order this in 2 separate visits in order to get the glass placement, holes, and proper sizing. Too much time being wasted!!!!In all - this will cost me way less than a custom shower some company will install for me. However, it is costing a lot of time between custom glass measuring and deliveries.
