Delicious
I used to buy this at Sprouts years ago and thought they had stopped making it! I am so thrilled to find it on Amazon! It’s amazing just like it comes, or, add some extra cardamom and clove to create your own “flavor”. I add a hearty amount of both to mine and then bring to a boil a 50/50 ratio of water and milk and add the chai as soon as it boils and reduce to simmer. If you’re going to add sugar or honey it’s best to add it when you add the tea leaves. I simmer mine for about a minute until it’s the perfect light tan color. Absolutely perfect. And this is a HUGE bag, just in case you aren’t sure!!

Great bulk tea
Bought this for the first time after the tea I used to buy suddenly jumped in price. Primarily use it for drinking (of course) and making kombucha. Good flavor and quality at a great price. I will continue ordering this every few months.

Great tasting tea
This make a great tasting cup of tea, unless you add too much tea or let it steep way too long. Then it gets a slight bitterness to it. If you follow the directions it comes out perfect every time. Just plain old great tasting tea. I am ready for some cinnamon biscuits to go with it. YUMM!!

Great Value
I do not consider myself or my wife to be tea snobs so this review is coming from folks who just appreciate a good tasting cup of tea on occasion. We quit buying tea bags years ago because of the crazy high price. Buying in bulk makes a lot more sense to us. This brand of the Black Ceylon seems pretty tasty to us. We've also discovered that it brews really well using a French Press coffee maker. And to get a full pound of organic, fair trade tea for $26 is a pretty good deal.

Bought to Make Milk Tea
I’ve gotten into making milk tea lately and wanted to buy black tea in bulk to make life easier. The price is really good and I can respect the fair trade stamp, but the flavor is a bit lighter than expected. I’ve made the same milk tea recipe with different Ceylon leaves and the flavor came through the milk beautifully; however, this batch I made with these Ceylon tea leaves was much weaker on the tea flavor. I can feel the caffeine running through my veins so I don’t really want to increase the tea amount in my recipe. I might try brewing the tea longer next time to see if that helps. I’m sure this tastes okay as hot tea. I haven’t noticed any astringency or bitterness. It might just not be suited for milk tea though. Perhaps I’ll use it for iced tea instead.

Very Satisfying! A rich and robust Tippy Assam.
I often buy herbs from Frontier coop, but this was my first time buying tea from them. I have to admit I figured it would be decent at best bulk tea, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a good quality, strong, and flavourful Tippy Assam that makes for a very satisfying pot of tea.The dry leaves were obviously fresh and consisted of mostly medium leaf with some longer ones and more broken leaves mixed in. You can also see the golden tips in the dry leaf. When brewed the tea has what I consider the classic Assam scent: malt, molasses, and floral high notes. On the palate the tea is rich and robust, malty but also with the distinct fruitiness of a nice tippy Assam. It has just about the optimal amount of astringency for that “bite” that I think is crucial to a good Assam. Personally I don’t like Assams that are overly gentle and fail to make you take notice. This tea isn’t too bitter or anything, even with longer steeps, but it is an assertive tea.I think it needs a longer steep time to really bring out its full depth and flavour. If drinking it straight I recommend at least 5 minutes if not a bit more. If using milk you can go even longer. I really like it steeped 10-12 minutes in the pot when adding milk. It takes milk very well and is also great with both milk and sugar. I’d say it makes an outstanding breakfast brew. It also makes very good cold brew ice tea.Overall, I was very impressed by this Assam. It compares favourably to Ahmad’s Kalami Assam, a staple of mine, and to all the other loose leaf Assams I’ve tried from Amazon. I’ve noticed some reviews say quality consistency is an issue with frontier teas. I can’t speak to that yet and may have more to say when I reorder, but for now this is one of the best Assams I’ve seen on Amazon.

Need a lot of tea leaves to experience the flavor
I had better Ceylon black tea. I had to use a lot more tea leaves than I used to to experience the Ceylon flavor. A lot of chopped up tea leaves rather than whole leaves. Overall it’s not bad.

it grows on you
I was a little disappointed at first. It wasn't at all flowery or citrusy or anything. Adding more honey didn't help. But reducing my usual tsp.--- DID. . . . Half a tsp. just seems to let it be itself. (I take milk with black teas.) It's become my first choice, first thing in the morning.
