Consistent springtime temperatures produced a nice even set. A typically warm summer led into a late August and early September ripening period of alternating hot and cool stretches, causing sugar levels to spike and retreat, ultimately settling at more "normal" levels. September finished with classic weather of very warm days and cooler nights. Our philosophy of picking at optimum physiological maturity was rewarded with later development of wonderfully concentrated, ripe flavors that carried over into the wines. A superb vintage!
