Gilliamesque: A Pre-posthumous Memoir

Du pur Gilliam !

Terry Gilliam is one of my favourite film directors so I was intrigued by this book. ( I had also read Palin and Idle's books about the Python's so was keen to read his take on them too. )I was delighted to find it is large - 8" x 10.3"- printed on heavy glossy paper and is absolutely crammed with drawings, paintings and photos with explanatory notes. Not only is this a book a visual delight but the voice of the author comes through very strongly. This funny, self-deprecating, honest, angry and visionary man is tremendously engaging and makes this a delightful read.He has lead a fascinating life and although I would have loved more details about his film-making can thoroughly recommend this as a marvellous book.

A good read for Gilliam fans.
