someone had replaced the original carb with one that had the accelerator pump. Checking the engine numbers, it was incorrect. Installed this carb, adjusted the valves, installed new gaskets, and the engine was not surging or governor hunting anymore.

Perfect replacement for my John Deere 318

The carburetor and fuel pump was an exact match for my Miller 225G welder with the Onan P216 engine. The carburetor and fuel pump appear to be well made. The only issue I had was I had to run a tap in the 2 bolt holes on the bottom of the carburetor to clean the treads. The fuel line and filter seemed cheap, so I opted for new braided rubber 1/4” fuel line and filter from the auto parts store. I also replaced the fuel pickup line in the tank with 3/16” low temperature polyurethane fuel line. Couldn’t be happier.

The carb is fine. I installed it without doing anything to it. All of a sudden my tractor quit, and I thought it was electrical. Went through all the wiring, thought I'd found the problem with a safety switch. (This all benefited me, anyway). I put it back together and still wouldn't start. Started spraying starter fluid and got it to run, but it wouldn't start on it's own. Then I noticed gas leaking from the carb after shutting it down. Aughh! Had to take exhaust and covers, intake off and discovered the plug to the float bowl to access the main jet was gone! Couldn't find a proper threaded bolt to stick in (different than the original carb), so I turned a close one in to seal, and cut it off. It works fine, now.
