This bow is very beautiful! It is super shinny on the surface, and square pattern in hidden. If you are amateur violin player, this bow is far good enough for you at this price. However, if you are professional player, this bow is too light, and the response is not so good like other cheaper bows; if you wish to play difficult songs, you need to find some other ways overcome the response problem, such as you have to hold it more gently and play more gently to get a good response; if you play fast, the bow is like flying but not jumping very well; you need to find another feeling to get everything work (imagine you are holding lighter version of bow, and it could work much better). In fact I have also tried the bow from Fiddleman, that bow is a little bit heavier, but the response is not good, I play it for two years (not often), the hair suddenly broken one day I performance (...!). The rosin is crashed when sent here (I don't mind this issue, I don't need it).I give this 5 stars because it is good enough to use this bow to practice for this price.

I purchased this bow for my niece, who is an intermediate player. I tested it myself and was very impressed. The weight and balance feels good, the tightening screw works well, and the bow hair is very even and well installed. It did take a lot of rosin to load the bow for a good sound. I do not know the quality of the rosin supplied with the bow, which is light colored and thus a harder product for a dryer environment. I pulled one of my dark rosins and after applying it was very happy with the sound. I actually want to use this bow on stage to see how it performs, then pass it on to my niece. If I like it, I will actually buy one for myself as a back up bow. This is saying a lot, since I use only pernambuco wooden bows at much higher expense. Kudos to a great bow and highly recommended for violin students.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I'm pleased with the bow . It required a more rosin than I'm used to but that's no big deal.Traction and staying on the D string is a little difficult for me with this bow but that's something that can be rectified ; it might be more that my bowingtechnique could use improvement not the bow itself. it is a good bow for the price. I would recommend it especially to those who are beginnersor intermediate students like me.

My daughter needs a new bow because she is now enrolled in violin lessons. I asked the company if this bow is right for my little girl. They were quick to reply and helped explain that the bow is right for her because it is made of high quality materials like Mongolian horsehair and a strong carbon weave. I am also really thankful that the bow came with rosin in the box. Saved me from shopping around. So far everything is going well, my daughter is starting her class and I am very happy with my purchase.

WOW! I bought this violin bow for my daughter and she ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT! I have never found such a competitive price for a carbon fiber full sized bow anywhere. All my local violin shops are either too expensive or the quality is questionable. For it's price, this violin bow surprised me with how good it is. I would definitely recommend it as a great Christmas present to the musical aficionados in your life. My daughter has told me it has a really good balance point and was really good for pizzicato.
