In Egyptian mythology the Phoenix was a female scared firebird with plumage of gold, blue, green, purple and scarlet. At the end of its life cycle the Phoenix builds a nest from cinnamon twigs ignites them and the bird and nest burn fiercely and out of the ashes the Phoenix reborn. In a great scene from the Harry Potter movie the "Chamber of Secrets" Harry sees a Phoenix go up in flames and it is then reborn, on reporting this to Dumbledore (Richard Harris the best in that role!) Dumbledore says to Harry, "Thank god, that bird did not look well for some time" ........................................................................The other Phoenix in my life is the Phoenix Park in Dublin, named after a "clean water" well in the 18,000-acre park, the largest enclosed recreational park in any European city.
