Things to consider…
I definitely should’ve know the sound quality was going to be subpar. However…. I didn’t think it was going to be such a flat lifeless sounding experience. The overall quality of the headset is cheap plastic, but given the price this makes sense. The gel cups are very nice and comfortable. This headset will actually provide protection when at an outdoor range. (I wouldn’t use this indoor without doubling up ear pro, however you could get away with an indoor pistol range. The rating is something close to 22-23db) I shot various rounds while wearing these. (5.56 , .308, 9mm, and 45 acp) they do work as intended. The problem with this headset is not the sound deadening but the sound quality. It’s just a “flat noise” (meaning there’s no sound direction.) this doesn’t sound bad, except it is. Over time the lack of spacial awareness due to lack of sound is a concern. I find myself having to be more “heads up” with my visual surrounding when at the range during the night under NVGs, which if you’ve ever been under night vision you know it’s like looking through straws. The point of electronic ear pro is to allow you the know what’s going on around you through audio and unfortunately these don’t do it well enough. (Walker razors blow this headset out of the park. They are $40). If you do not intend to use these for maneuvering under fire or nvg shoots with the boys. They will probably work fine if you want the peltor look. However for the price there are much better options.

These work well....but
I'd like to start with the positives. They're inexpensive and work well. The gel cups make for less headaches when wearing them all day. And the microphone is clear. If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would have...However, there is one somewhat minor downside..They are not very tight. I know it seems like you may not want them very tight..for comfort. But when falling and laying in weird positions when shooting, I have had them nearly fall off. Especially when trasitioning from a knee to the back. So I took them off of the original head band and mounted them on a helmet.

Dead on arrival.
Update: New pair works great.Dead on arrival. Tried multiple new sets of batteries. Won’t turn on. Exchanging for new pair. That said, super comfortable. Will update if I get a working pair.

I love these
I wore these at nascar and at an air show and they held up for hours on end. The gel cups are so comfortable and make wearing them much more pleasing. Would highly recommend for anyone not wanting to spend that much on a real pair

Works good for outdoor shooting
let me start off by saying that I was very hesitant to buy this peltor replica considering the description doesnt mention anything about live fire. I was considering buying real peltors for quite some time and then I found these and said why not give them a try before spending $800 on the real thing. I do not play airsoft or cosplay. I strictly bought these to see if they worked for live fire.Pros:The "gel" pads fit well and the headband fits pretty well. The sound amplification works so well that I can hear someone whisper across my house. The mic is easily removed just like the real thing. They look exactly like peltor comtac 2. They only take 2 AA batteries.Cons:DO NOT turn the volume all the way up for live fire. If you think im kidding, try it for yourself. I would no bring these to an indoor rifle range, you may be able to get away with these in an indoor handgun range. The quality is reflected in the price. They are much more plastic than real peltors.I shot 9mm,7.62x39,12ga,7.62x54R,.223,5.56, and even .338 and .50 AE with this headset and my ears did not ring once. This is not a fake review and I paid full price for these for testing. DO NOT USE THIS AS LEGAL OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE!Overall great headset for the price. If you are considering it and the price is the issue... then buy some walker razors. Otherwise give them a try.
