Nice Wood!
Lots of great and unusual species. This box is perfect for small projects, pens cutting boards, knife handles, coasters etc. There was one piece so pretty I don’t think I can cut it. It will wait for just the right project so I don’t have to. I will definitely buy from them again.

I ordered another one before I wrote my review.
I ended up taking a gamble on this 25lb box of exotic cutoffs, despite a couple really poor reviews. One person said "buy this if you like MDF. Well, I included a picture of the actual wood I received and labeled what is.Several of the woods I received I can't even get at my local hardwood shop that does have many exotics like zebrawood, purple heart, wenge, padauk, leopard wood etc. In fact my local shop currently has only two of the woods I received: teak and tigerwood.Woods I received : Spanish oak, teak, tigerwood(it was labeled as gongalo alves, which is apparently the real name), monkey pod, costa rican mahogany, granadillo, and mango. Many pieces were 5/4, a couple 8/4, a several 1" or 3/4". Several pieces were 8-11" in length and one piece of 8/4 teak is 13". These are cutoffs, great for small projects like jewelry boxes, accents and inlays, and some pieces are probably big enough to use in cutting boards. I think only the two pieces of monkey pods I got were rough cut. Everything else, even the 8/4 (I went and double checked, they're actually milled to 1 7/8") are smooth and if they weren't perfectly square, they were damn close. If you understand that you're not going to be able to build an outdoor teak furniture set...that this is exotic woods for small projects, I doubt you will be disappointed. And it's the woodworkers version of a mystery box. It's fun to open up and see what you got.

The Costarican Mahoney is junk and the box was 1/3 full of it but everything else is great.
Shipping is very high but it is a good value for the wood itself. The Mahogany that came with it is like Balsa Wood.

Gift that wowed!
I bought this for my husband who has taken up forging/knife making. He has mentioned several times that he would like options without having to purchase massive pieces of wood, so I got to shopping around. The variety was wonderful, the sizes once it arrived are perfect, there are many different options in the box but all of them will be useable. My husband was so excited he almost forgot he had others gifts.

Great Value
I have been looking at this order for some time wondering if it was worth taking a chance on unseen wood. I am always looking for grain pattern or color when picking out wood for my projects. last week I bought some wood from my local hardwood supply store. When I came home I decided to weigh the $60 of wood purchased. Six pounds. That is $10 per pound. If I bought this order it would be $4 per pound. So, I decided to take a chance and buy sight unseen wood and hope for the best. Well, it just arrived and I felt like a kid walking into a candy store as it was opened. Not sure if I would be tickled pink or sadly disappointed. Hooray, some great grain pattern and color. Well worth the cost so now to make some sawdust. I would purchase this wood again . . . . . as soon as this batch is somewhat depleted.

Definitely worth it
I received some good pieces of Goncal Alves, Monkeypod, Teak, Mango, Spanish Oak, and Granadillo. The Costa Rican Mahogany had a few wood bore holes in it and just wasn't something I could use. If those 4 pieces had been Redheart, Purpleheart, Yellowheart, or Cocobola I would have give them a better rating. I am still satisfied with what I received and would order again.
