A very handy tool to have in the bag
It works, and it works well. It easily cuts guitar strings, ukulele strings, etc. No damage to blades when cutting heavy to light gauge steel strings. If you change your own strings, this cutter is a must have. It is very durable, the material is made of high quality metal, and it makes clean cuts. The rubber grips are comfortable to use, and have red accents (and therefore easy to find). My only minor gripe is that it is spring-loaded to open. I've cut myself with the blades reaching into the pocket a few times when I first got it. Thankfully I don't change strings too often. I also made a little leather pouch for the clipper end, and I put a rubber band around the handles to keep it closed.A must-have for your guitar/bass/ukulele bag. Highly recommended.

Great for field telephone wire
I use these for WD-1A/TT field telephone wire. The wire has steel strands that will ruin the cutters on most wire strippers pretty quickly. These are made to cut steel and seem to work very well. Besides guitar string cutters, there are some craft/floral cutters that might work for steel, but I haven't tried those.

Very nice tool, if a bit expensive
As is the case with all tools, you really do get what you pay for with this string cutter. It's extremely well-built, and performs its task very well.Pros:- Extremely high quality metal- Comfortable rubber grips- Red accent handle makes it easy to find in a bag-of-tricks- Effortlessly cuts even stainless steel bass stringsCons:- Has no ability to lock the cutter closed for storage; the tool is spring-loaded to open. While this may be a plus for some people, I find it less than ideal.Overall, this is an extremely well-made tool for your guitar kit. If you're a bassist that likes stainless steel strings, you'll appreciate how they cut like butter.

Great wire cutters!
Just got these and they are really good. Small but powerful they cut easily through my medium guitar strings with a satisfying snap. So tired of cutters that are too big or won't cut the strings and these are perfect. Even have a little cap to keep them clean and fresh. Worth the price.

These Wire cutters Work well
They are very sharp and work well . I like the spring action to open . The jaws meet well enough to be able to cut fingernails ! A nice addition to your string changing gear

High Quality Tool
The real test of a string cutter for me is how well they do the job with stainless steel bass guitar strings. I'm primarily a bass player and while I don't use the heaviest gauge strings, I don't use the lightest either. In every instance these have done the job with no problem. They cut quickly and cleanly without crushing the string or leaving an unravelling end. They also have "that look and feel" that I associate with high quality tools - friends who have used the cutter usually comment on how nicely they work. I'm sure there are other products that do equally well, but these work for me and I'd buy them again.

Perfect size
Small but strong, lightweight and easy to maneuver around your expensive guitar headstock. I had to stop using clumsy old electrical pliers when changing guitar strings, so I got these. Love them.

Incorrect Label - These are NOT GTSC1 cutters
I bought these to replace my old GTSC1 cutters, which I love. But they're getting dull, after six years of near-daily use.I was very disappointed to find that these are not the same cutters! They're about half the size, and much more lightly built. They aren't as sharp, and they 'give' when cutting. The real GTSC1 cutters plow through hardened steel like it was butter.

Pretty Nice
Nice sharp slice from first use - not the kind that require a massive amount of hand strength to use so perfect for my weak little woman hands. Sharp, easy to use and small enough to carry around in front pocket of my guitar case. On top of this they're relatively inexpensive and do the job nicely. No complaints!

Quality tool, perfect for the job.
Good quality, works well, and the ideal size. Just big enough to fit in the hand nicely, and side cutters seem to work better than end cutters because they allow you to snip the string closer to the tuner, and you can see exactly where on the string the cutter is.The bottom of the pack it came in slides up, so I can leave the cutters in the packaging to store them in the accessory compartment of my guitar case. It just fits nicely.I had been using using electrical cutters before which were just too big, and always in the garage when I wanted them. Glad I spent a tenner on these, they are well made. I'll look at at Cruz tools again.
