Good Translation, Good Endnotes by Editor
I bought this book because I was hoping to learn how to apply principles of toleration to our own intolerant times. While there were some points that discussed toleration in the general, the writing mostly focused on the history of Judaism into Christianity, arguing that the roots of the current hostilities between the Catholics and Protestants are not rooted in true observance of their respective religions. Despite this, I still found the book interesting and would recommend.

Classic & relevant
It’s Voltaire, it’s controversial even 4 centuries later but as relevant as ever. Read it!

Wisdom for the ages
Voltaire’s humanist appeal to our better angels is as relevant today as it was during the Enlightenment. He is easily understood, not so easily emulated...

WHO AM I TO 'REVIEW' VOLTAIRE??
Voltaire is one of humankind's greatest geniuses. This extended essay on the need for religious tolerance could not be more timely.

Good read.
Really puts you in the shoes of the author and educates you on the happenings in France at the time.

As relevant today (unfortunately) as it was when first written.
Thought provoking and as relevant today (unfortunately) as it was when first written. My only concern is not with the book itself but the readership. Not trying to big myself up, but I imagine those who read this will already be fairly tolerant and have an interest in this. Those who don't want to read it, not so much, no one likes holding the mirror up and seeing something bad looking back. It is the intolerant that this needs to reach.
