Xbox 360 Controller Rapid Fire Kit (4 MODE) COD 5

The shipping was really fast, with the package arriving days after the order. Everything was in great condition. The actual installation of the kit, however, was anything but easy. It takes quite a bit of skill and patience to solder, so if this is your first time soldering you may not get it right the first time. Don't worry. As long as your careful not to apply to much heat to the motherboard, you most likely won't ruin the controller, just the chip of the kit, which by the way is undoubtfully the most irritating part of the procedure. I find that the pins of the chip are way too close together. This can be a huge problem considering that if the pins are soldered together, the chip will not work. Usually the bond can just be melted away, but if they are soldered together at the bases of the pins (which can easily happen when solder is in its liquid form), its nearly impossible to separate the connection, meaning an entirely new chip must be purchased. The mod itself works flawlessly if done correctly and it even works for MW3. Its perfect for the pistols in survival mode!Overall, this is a great kit with a great price, just not a very simple one; therefore, if you only plan on modding one or two controllers and you don't have any previous experience in soldering, I would advise against this kit. There are other simpler mods out there, its just that they cost a bit more [...] Otherwise, this is the kit for you. Get it right once and you shouldn't get it wrong again.

I installed this yesterday. I am fairly competent with 'tinkering' and soldering and it took me an hour or so. Mostly because I kept checking and rechecking what wires went where. It went smooth though and the directions were spot on.Performance - so far I am pleased. It feels like cheating actually. I am playing Black Ops with it and here is what I have found so far in the limited time I have used it.a) it does have 4 modes and all four cycle just fine on my controllerb) i have to use mode 2 for semi-auto assault rifles or it really messes with the firing, but on mode 2 it makes them fully auto, not as fast as the auto weapons, but faster than I can pull the triggerc) although i haven't tested it enough to know if it unloads a clip faster on the auto weapons, the biggest benefit is it removes ALL recoil. The reason being, it is actually acting as if you are letting of the trigger and pressing it again. So, as you would normally have to cycle the trigger to control recoil, the mod does it for you. For this reason alone, the mod is worth every penny.d) it does NOT change the recoil of semi-auto weapons, i.e. sniper rifles still have major recoilI will add comments as I use it more and discover what it does, and doesn't do. So far I like.

It's almost ridiculous how expensive an after-market modded controller can cost. This is a very well priced overall package for getting the rapid fire working on an Xbox 360 controller. Getting everything set requires some soldering skill, but everything is clearly depicted and explained in step by step instructions with pictures.As far as in-game performance goes, it's top of the line. All my friends online actually laughed when they saw it in action. The rapid fire eliminates any opportunity to be out-shot. Works great with all semi-auto weapons on Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. I don't have World at War, so wouldn't know. It even heavily reduces recoil for EVERY automatic weapon as well. The 3 modes are very handy. (Uses - Mode 1: akimbo/dual wield weapons; Mode 2: automatic weapons, greatly reduces recoil, increases accuracy; Mode 3: semi-auto weapons, crazy fast rapid fire)[based on Modern Warfare 2 performance]The only downside to me is using the sync button for activation of the turbo. When pressed to long or too frequently, the controller will try to re-sync to the Xbox 360. However, it is completely undetectable, albeit quite obvious in replays.Overall, simple and quick to install, completely functional, and just fun to have. If you or someone you know is handy with taking apart small electronics and, more importantly, with soldering, this is a must have.

This product was fairly simple to install, but did not work as expected from description. I would recommend to the seller to make the guide on installation a little easier. Also, maybe send more than one color of wire, I had some spare but I doubt everyone else does. For buyers, I recommend you have a soldering stand of some kind and a very fine tip on your gun. When I finished installation I tried it on several games and different guns in each game. I could shoot faster than this mods timer could on most games. I suggest a simple touch button mod rather than a rapid fire mod. It will let u use your regular trigger and the touch button. This mod has to be removed to use the trigger as normal.

bought this and installed it for a friend it worked great for about a month and a half but now his controller doesn't register that his mic is plugged in however the mic that came with the xbox still works with it just his turtle beaches dont work with it, other than that it worked good we would play mw2 and mode 4 worked almost as good as my 10 mode adjustable mod which he was happy about it shot pretty fast when he shot a usp only about 3 shots had recoil

I also agree with one of the reviewers. The rapid fire mod only has one mode. It worked okay with COD World at War, but when I tried it with a few other FPS, it did not work very well. Sometimes, it would get stuck in rapid fire mode when I wanted to turned it off. I know that I installed it correctly and the button was just fine. It just did not respond like the way it should have. As for the blue led lights for the controller, you better use a good magnifying glass, tweezers, and soldering iron, and more importantly, have a steady hand. The price of the item is cheap, but so it's performance.

It's a little slwer than i thought when i bought it. It barely works with Black OPs and only on mode two, sometimes one. The rapid fire only works on single shot weapons such as pistols and is about as fast as my finger, so it's more of a convienance
