Can’t go wrong at this price! The new grips look great.
The media could not be loaded. Lightning fast shipping. Beautiful knife for the price! The new mode has the better looking grips which is this model offered for sale. For the price it seems to be very well made and looks great as well. I was hesitant at first but the new stag look is perfect! Beautiful and functional knife at a great price point! I’m surprised it doesn’t go for more as of writing this. Highly recommended if you need a replacement knife or if you’re looking to add to your toolbox knives and or collection. It looks great the blades snap back into the knife with heft (as you would expect from high dollar knives). Overall I highly recommend it. Sharp also! You can’t go wrong at this price.

Really Nice knife
The uncle henry 885 in the "new" staglon (a nice looking plastic that imitates antler) is a really nice knife. It is the same size as the old timer 8OT, i.e., a fairly large knife (4" closed) that still fits fine in the pocket. Very good pull and snap, close to perfect fit and finish. The old USA made version has a slightly more ergonomic feel, due to the scales being rounded on the edges, but otherwise the modern China made 885 is the equal of the old USA version. Hard to believe I got this knife for $20-- it could easily have been twice that, given the quality. I do wish Uncle Henry offered a jigged bone or antler version with the mirror 9Cr19MoV steel like the saw cut old timer 8OTB, but I am actually pretty happy with the Staglon and the satin 7CR17 blades.

Close to an Original but not Quite There
I recently purchased an original, mint condition, US manufactured Uncle Henry Senior Rancher on eBay for $50. I purchased this $22 Chinese copy so that I could compare the quality. The Chinese isn't bad, but the USA made version is better. In the photos where both knives are visible the US is on top and the Chinese clone below. In the other shots the US is always the darker one, as the Chinese version is lighter colored. The US blades open and close more smoothly, but that could be in part because the Chinese version is newer. What I noticed right away (and I have noticed this on other Chinese Uncle Henry clones) is that the fit isn't as good. For instance, the brass center spine isn't perfectly flush on the Chinese model, causing it to feel rough. The US back is nice and smooth. You can see the the "Uncle Henry" text in the side plate is crisp and clean on the US but dirty looking on the Chinese. Another difference is that the pins on the US model are round; the Chinese pins are slightly irregular in shape. All in all not a bad clone, but the fit and finish of the original US version is superior. As for how these hold up over time to use I don't know; I haven't had either long enough. I like the Uncle Henry's and I have four different models, all purchased on Amazon including the LB7 Bear Paw, the 227UH, and the fixed blade 157 Golden Spike, all Chinese made. I like them, and for the price they don't seem bad. But now that I have an American made Uncle Henry I can see the difference in quality. It's a real shame that Schrade went out of business here. At least Buck and Case are still available. Buck actually offers several of their pocket knives in your choice of US or Chinese made; the name plate design on the body is different, and the US made ones are almost double in cost.

Highly Recommend.
Nice knife. Build is comperable to the pre-2004 US Schrade knives.Mine has a working edge on all the blades.I'll introduce it to the bottom of my coffee mug when it is empty. No visible gaps, no blade wiggle, I don't notice any blade rub when opening or closing any of the blades, one at a time.Excelent walk 'n talk.Blades have a pull between "5" and "6" out of the box. This may get a little lighter after I wash and lube the joints.Like the old pre-2004 "Made in USA" Schrade knives (Schrade went bankrupt and locked all the doors in 2004) this is a "working" knife; not a "collector's item" or a never intended to be used "safe queen".There may be minor flaws (as there are on the old US made knives) that I haven't noticed yet. There are no flaws that affect functionality. It should make for a nice EDC.
