Minsley White Rice Bowl, Organic, Microwaveable, 7.4 Ounce Bowls (Pack of 12)

Essentially I am paying for the convenience. Grab a bowl, 66 seconds later I have hot rice that I have NOT burned, nor added too much or too little water, etc etc. Living alone, (what with COVID-19) means making rice, even with my rice cooker, is a waste of time and effort and energy, not to mention the pitfalls of cooking very little rice at one time. And so, although at first glance, so little rice for so much money is questionable, in the big picture, I have saved SOOOOOOO much money and time and frustration in return for convenience, very good taste and quality, dropped on my doorstep! My only regret is that of course, the 'bowl' is plastic, which, for an anti plastic, pro-environment Pro-Earth proponent, is regrettable. And yet, I have subscribed to this. Pity that right now they don't have enough in stock (11/17/2021) for my next shipment. Dang.

I am a Japanese senior citizen and liked this product enough that I have re-ordered it. It is not as good as rice cooked in a rice cooker but if you're in need of a small quantity, this product is hard to beat. We find it to be a very good accompaniment to leftover Chinese food.This product is an excellent alternative to "instant" rice. The quality, taste and texture are superior.Considering taste, convenience and shelf life, this is better than the other brand I have purchased from Amazon.

I love these rice bowls. Older kids can make them by themselves as snacks, which is mainly what we use them for. These aren't as sticky as the Annie Chuns (which we love also), but the better price on these makes GoGo Rice our choice.Update 10-01-08: I'm so disappointed by the rate hike in the case of these bowls! It used to be such a bargain. I also think the previous poster has a good point re: heating in this grade plastic.

Pros: organic, fast, convenient, tastes good, relatively inexpensive.Cons: slightly weird texture, plastic taste sometimes, non biodegradable plastic bowlDetails:I first ordered this as an alternative to Annie Chun's Sticky rice and am really happy I did so. I find it to be a perfect serving for one person, probably 'cos I am of East Indian origin and rice is a staple for us. It is very convenient and not too expensive either. Especially if you compare it with Annie Chun's sticky rice. It doesn't taste like rice you have made in a rice cooker or in a pot on the stovetop, it tastes like rice made instantly in the microwave. The texture is somewhere between that of sticky rice and regular rice. The only thing I don't like is the plastic bowl it comes in, for two reasons: 1. you can "taste the plastic sometimes, especially at the bottom and the sides. 2. it goes straight into the landfill. It would be great if they replace the plastic bowl with some sort of natural/biodegradable material. That's the reason I took off one star, otherwise it is a pretty good product for the price. If you are getting it this rice, I'd suggest doing what I do and what some others here have said, dump the contents in a creamic/glass bowl and follow the instructions on the package to microwave. Bottom line, it is fast, convenient, organic and tastes pretty good. Put it on subscribe and save and get even better value for money.

My affinity for Minsley products began with my initial purchases that I bought at my favorite warehouse club. I started with Minsley's organise brown rice. I was highly impressed. Admittedly, I'm a rice snob who usually cooks rice in a rice cooker. I rarely do that anymore. I bought Minsley's white rice thinking: I bet it would make great sushi rice. Bingo! It's perfect for making sushi. PS I would have taken a picture of the sushi we made, but it turned out so good that by the time we thought about it, it was too late... It was delicious! We ate it!

this rice is so good. it's better than I could ever cook, even in a rice maker. it's moist and delicious. it heats up in 1 min 30 sec. it's a good quantity. i put a little soy sauce and sesame seed on it and it's a meal.

The #7 ("other" ?!) plastic bowl packaging is supposed to make for microwaving convenience. But I could *taste* that plastic whenever I took a forkful from the edge of the bowl.Should I be concerned about ingesting plastic that is of the "other" variety? #7 is often polycarbonate, which is often hardened with BPA, which is under fire. And, of course, #7 has no recycling program.It's hard to know much about the health effects of "other" plastic. Using this container for "heat-and-eat" convenience sits poorly alongside the vigilance involved in choosing organic food! At any rate, the plastic just tastes bad.I'm still happy to have a case of these at my office so I can make a decent hot lunch without planning ahead -- but I now always dump the contents into a real ceramic bowl, put a small plate over it (to provide a non-airtight lid), and zap it for 60 seconds. (Package recommends 90 seconds, but 60 suffices.) I assume the worst health risk of plastic packaging happens with the microwave heating, and I am happy not to be tasting that "other" stuff.Minsley, please give us a #1 or #2 recyclable bowl (or #4 bag, or perhaps a #5 heatable bowl) -- and admit that the convenience is just about vacuum-packing the right quantity of cooked rice with the right moisture for re-heating in a proper container -- and then this will become what it should be.

I liked how moist it was.Easy to just pop into the microwave for a fast meal.
