Warning: this review discusses the death of our cat in this product. Don't read it if you think it may upset you.We were very pleased with this product, but didn't recognize the danger it posed to our pets. One of our cats figured out how to open the lid and would jump inside to sneak an extra meal. I decided we hadn't sealed it tight enough, so I made sure it was sealed properly. I didn't realize the product was completely airtight. I suppose that's good for product freshness and to keep bugs out. Tonight I came home to find our cat curled up peacefully in the bottom of the container. He'd gotten back in and the lid must have latched shut on him after he was inside. He had suffocated.This product would have gotten a four or five from me yesterday. Now all I can say is a one isn't low enough. Beware of the risk this product poses to some pets. If you own it, drill holes in it.To the manufacturer, I ask that you consider a redesign. Put air vents in that the owner can choose to open or close. If they'd been there, is have left them open. Put a warning on the lid as a reminder that it is airtight. That reminder would have been enough for me to realize our cat was at risk. Give the lid a different latch; one that can't be engaged if the lid just falls shut, but instead, needs to be positively engaged by the owner. I would have found a healthy, happy, and slightly overfed cat at home tonight, instead of having to bury him.I think all the "coffee is hot" labeling is overdone, but as a pet product manufacturer, the risk this poses to a curious or determined pet should have been obvious.
