These mats are ok for small applications I should have gone with the bigger mats.still decided to keep these for small plantings.

I ordered this on a Tuesday afternoon and had it plugged in and warming my seed flat by Wednesday evening! I was floored by the speed of shipping. They shipped it almost immediately after I placed the order! I will definitely order from this company again. And the Dirt Genius mats are amazing. I keep my house a little cooler than is recommended for sprouting seeds, so I thought this was probably needed to help my lil tomatoes along. I had sprouts the first day after using the warming mat. A great buy and 2 for $50 with free shipping was an amazing deal!

Although I thought the mats were rather small when I received them, they are the perfect size for my seed trays and do a great job keeping the soil warm. I've never used heated mats before, so I was a little skeptical. However, everything I have planted has come up quickly because the soil is kept at a constant warm temp. I followed a tip from one reviewer that said to use a thin piece of styrofoam under the trays so there is no heat loss.

100% increased germination rate with tropical pepper seeds in a arctic environment over not using the mat. Every body should use these when starting seeds in late winter/ early spring in the northern latitude. They work awesome! Last spring I planted 18 scotch bonnet seeds with only one seed sprouting. This year which has been much colder I had 100% germination on all seeds from the same stock planted even though the seeds were a year older! I am very happy!

We used in our cooler raised ranch basement. Winter has the area at <60 degrees. With the pads on, soil was warm enough for pepper and eggplant germination! I would guess 70 degrees. A cost effective alternative to thermostat controlled pads.

I was thrilled with the Dirt Genius heating mats I received. They are the perfect size for my space. Both came in perfect condition; and most important, they both worked. They are heating my flats of seeds right now.
