All of my favorite supporting characters were back for this go-round
Violet Parker is a single mom to twins (one of who has a chicken as a house pet), and a struggling Realtor in Deadwood, South Dakota. She’s dating hot, handsome financial planner Doc, who has the office next to where she works. She keeps stumbling onto dead bodies, which brings her into regular contact with local hot but cranky cop Cooper. Oh, and did I mention she sees dead people, regularly stumbles over dead bodies, and comes from a long line of killers? And that Doc is a medium for restless spirits? In book 6 of this entertaining, humor-filled, fast-paced paranormal mystery series, Violet’s boss is forcing her to participate in a reality paranormal show because he thinks it’s a cheap way to up the agency’s profile and bring in new business. She must work closely on the show with her arch-nemesis, Ray Underhill, while juggling romance, threats to her son, an Albino killer, problematic hair, crazy clients, crazier ghosts, and new threats from another prickly lawman, who thinks she might be a witch. All of my favorite supporting characters were back for this go-round, including Coop’s Uncle Harvey, Violet’s bff, Natalie, Violet’s auntie, the town fire chief who’s in love with Violet’s auntie, and Violet’s co-workers. There’s a lot of witty banter among the gang, and some hair-raising adventures. If I had one quibble with this entry, it was that there was a lot of detailed descriptions of Doc and Violet “getting busy”. That might be off-putting to some people, but I just paged on past those scenes. I was much more interested in knowing that their relationship is continuing in a good direction, and what was going to happen to everyone, rather than what, where and when they were doing each other.Be warned – the ending is abrupt, as are all the books in this series, but I’m such a fan of this series that the ending just whetted my appetite for the next book. This is a really entertaining series. I found myself laughing out loud at several points, which earned me some interesting glances from people at my gym. I can’t say enough good things about this series in general, and this book in particular.

okay read
This one is not as good as the prior books. A little slow in the middle. Much of the reads like a YA novel except for a rather steamy sex scenes.

We finally get some answers...
5 Stars... What I loved so much about this book was that the author finally gives readers answers regarding Violet's family history and her role in the supernatural turmoil she finds herself... Some of the pieces from previous reads are fitted into their slots in the overall storyline pulling the entire series together... I also loved the dynamics between Violet and Doc; their relationship picks up momentum and takes some leaps forward in the read... Even with Violet's general misunderstandings and trust issues, she and Doc continue to make strides forward and keep that chemistry HOT...Doc is absolutely perfect with Violet's children demonstrating patience and compassion for them both (Even if at times they certainly do not earn it, LOL!)... Overall, this book propels the characters and the storyline forward in leaps and bounds while keeping some aspects of the mystery still stewing for readers to discover more truths in the future:)

Once you pick this book up you can't put it down!!
Let me start by saying I LOVE this series! It's the perfect blend of mystery, romance and shot of paranormal thrown in for good measure !I'm still in shock with the ending of this book and all the information we learned about Violet and her crazy crew! Like the other books in this series it takes place in Deadwood South Dakota.Once again poor Violet stumbles into another mystery surrounding a dead body.Only this time she's with Harvey and Natalie. Enter Detective Cooper with all his grumbling and snarling,...followed by the one and only arrogant Detective Stone Hawk. Not only is Hawk trying to hang Violet for every crime committed, he thinks she is a witch and tries his best to find a way to prove it. He also manages to keep making Cooper look bad..could this lead Cooper to snap? While Violet is trying to solve this murder to keep from getting blamed for it,she also has to sell real estate and her boss Jerry has decided that she and Ben need to do TV spots in known haunted buildings and homes to sell paranormal realty. If that isn't enough going on Violet has another encounter with Prudence that reveals the connection between the two of them. There are lots of steamy and hilarious scenes with Doc and Violet as their relationship evolves. Aunt Zoe reveals Violets true destiny and family secrets that involve both of Violets children as well. Cornelius is also along for the ride as are many other crazy and creepy and downright scary characters. So if you want a book that takes off and won't let you go, look no further!! I highly recommend this and all other books by Ann Charles .
