4" Pre Sump Filter Sock Holder

I've only had the sock holder a few days but it seems great. It is constructed well and and functioning as expected. I'm actually quite impressed with how solid it is and don't anticipate any problems. Considering how much less expensive it is, I was concerned when I ordered it that it might be flimsy. Definitely not the case. One problem with bonded acrylic pieces is that they don't always hold well. If this is bonded, it is excellent. It actually looks like it might have been cast in a mold. It looks like it's all one piece. This should equate to a solid, long life. It also fits well on my aquarium... plenty of room for adjustment to different size tanks.

So the plastic is kinda yellow and its a little flexible. You can tell its some kind of molded plastic. Its not like the sock for the build in sock holder in my sump that is a very clear and hard acrylic. I converted my drain from a durso to a herbie and my sump only had one sock holder and I wanted to run a sock on the emergency drain even though I only allow a trickle through it. This one was cheap, had good reviews, and allowed for a large rim which my sump has and many similar products are 3x the price or do not support a large rim. So did I wish it was not a yellowish clear color and that it was a little more ridged? Yes. But do I think its a great value and does what it is meant to do? Yes.

I bought these for a new sump I am setting up, and they are exactly what I needed. There are very well made, and should be very durable. They easily fit over the rim on the tank, and tighten down for a secure fit. The 4" socks I bought fit perfectly into the holes.

The screws are long enough to put this on almost anything it's not the best looking thing but it does the job well nice and sturdy

It works ok but I really wanted something I could adjust the height on. Didn't fit that well on a 20g sump with a plastic rim.

Built my own sump and didn’t want to I close the filter sock so I went with this. Fits over the edge on the aqueon tanks. The filter fits in snugly and no worries about it slipping out.

Mine came in slightly bent, so it is not perfectly square, but not bad enough to effect the operation. I would buy again. I gave 4 out of 5 stars because of the bend. Its not worth it to me to over-tighten the threads to get it to sit straight in the sump.

Very surprised at the product high-quality .. would definitely buy these again if needed
