Great high power fans!
I have house that's almost 100 years old and the electrical system can hardly support modern microwaves and toaster ovens so air conditioners aren't much of an option. The only AC in my house is a large 220 volt window unit on the 2nd floor. Have one of these fans to blow the cold air down the stairs to the 1st floor and the 2nd at the bottom of the stairs to blow the air into my livingroom. These fans are great for airflow and helping you feel cool during hot weather. Their LOW setting is more powerful than standard box fans from places like Walmart. Even on low you can feel the air blowing from over 10ft away.Assembly was easy and the fans are sturdy since they are mostly made of metal. The base is quite heavy making them stable (and as a bonus, my cats seem to like sleeping on the base). The fan can be directed 360 degrees vertically and horizontally so you can easily direct the airflow anywhere you want. But being powerful fans, they can be loud. Fine for a bedroom or hallway where it acts as white noise, but in a livingroom you might have to double the TV volume to hear it as clearly as when the fan is off.

Good airflow even at low speed
This is a good, quiet (at low speed), effective fan. The remote control is handy. I use it mostly for quiet, steady airflow overnight as I'm sleeping. I rarely need anything but it's lowest speed, but its higher speeds are plenty powerful enough when desired. The lack of assembly instructions was a bit daunting at first, but I was able to figure it out in just a couple of minutes.

Industrial strength fan that drastically increases air movement -- amazing
Arrived without slight defects some customers reported; looked great. Assembled in under 5 minutes, and without out any tools (you may want to tighten 2 screws with a Philips head).Top speed is not quiet, but took my living room from a heat-box to pleasantly chilly. So ... maybe don't put this near the TV if you want to blast the fan at max, but on low-to-medium, this is not a problem. Also, there is a slight vibration in the base at max speed that might be countered with some added weight (my shoe worked). Also, at max speed the motor housing gets moderately warm to the touch. These are engineering trade-offs to get that fan velocity and wind movement, but just so you don't freak out if you get this fan. So far no issues with it.Overall, I plan to get at least one more for the house. I had a plastic fan that was quieter, but that fan on max was only slightly louder than this one -- and it burned out after a year. Don't get a cheap plastic fan!!!~ Dominick A. Leone ~

heavy duty fan, work swell
This is a great fan. Heavy base so no tip over, great wind volume, acceptable noise level, good looking. It came with a weird "nut" to secure the base to the fan pole, an odd 90-degree bolt that was supposed to tighten down . . . but was broken at the bend. I almost sent the fan back, but it looked so nice I made a seventy-three cent visit to Fastenal that fixed the problem. Highly recommended

Ho hum quality and sturdiness, price for the amount of air it moves is decent though
Arrived kinda messed up out of the box.The packing material is....minimalistic for this fan (which has some heft to it) and it came with a bent upper frame. I'd already had issues returning a previous model (they sent the wall mount version when I ordered the pedestal floor standing version) and didn't want to deal with sending it back again. So I just bent it back.Wasn't too hard but the metal is thin and brittle on the upper fan supports so you have to go slow otherwise you'll crack it.It does move a whole lot of air which is nice. No oscillation feature but that is fine. It blows so much air the whole room gets a breeze anyways. Its not quiet but I don't think any fan that moves this much air can be so I don't hold that against it. Still I have older fans this size and with similar power that are quieter. The base has some decent weight to it which is good to keep it steady. The locking nut/collar isn't so great though. You can make it as tight as you want but it works itself loose over time and the fan slowly slides downwards anyways. Turning the upper frame makes it come loose most every time too. The tilt adjustment on the upper support works fine. No need to try to torque down those hand knobs much to get it to stay there. The motor was getting very hot after running it for a while on low though which was worrying me. It has a built in over temp protection so I wasn't worried about a fire but heat was surprisingly high for a new fan. I took it a part to check the lubrication (directions state there should be lube ports but there are none, which is typical on cheap motors) but couldn't really find a direct cause. The bearings are sealed roller bearings and the windings and such all looked OK. There was some greasy soot or powder all over the inside of it though. I cleaned it off as best as I could and put it back together again and there was no difference in how it ran. I guess it just runs hot?? Could also be a balance issue but I can't find it if it is.Taking it apart is irritating BTW. Not end user friendly at all.It uses a mix of steel screws to hold it to the fan cage and aluminum bolts with aluminum nuts to hold the motor together. They get messed up real easy so be careful with them. The threading for the screws on the cage are also barely there and easy to strip if you start really trying to crank down on them watch it there too! The actual motor housing is pressed together on top of that and requires a screw driver and wedges to pry open the housing. The spindle wouldn't come out without a press or some hammering. Same thing for the motor stator core which is also held in with 4 punched metal tabs on top of that. So I didn't bother taking that out.So far the fan is still working but I don't feel very confident it'll still be working a couple of years down the road unfortunately. I still have other fans of similar size and power but with bearings that can be lubed or taken apart easily for service and have been running for over a decade now and they run much much cooler and with less noise.Overall my impression is its not terrible but also not so good either.

A really awesome fan!
This fan is really awesome! While it is loud, I actually like the white noise. It is very powerful! I have only needed to use it on the first setting & the amount of air it pushes is great! Ive had others in the past, that were not near as powerful on 3 as this one is on 1. I hate the heat when I sleep. This fan cools really well. The only thing I wish were different, is the that the cord should be longer by a couple feet. I don't mind that is does not not oscillate side to side, as I have it set up exactly where I need the air to flow. It can be adjusted height wise & you can move the fan itself up & down. For me, it is well worth the money. Keep in mind that it is indeed a loud fan & if white noise is your thing, then this fan will be great in your bedroom. I'm sure it will be perfect in a living room & a garage as well. :)

Pretty, sturdy, very powerful and simple fan.
Very strong fan, when it starts, even on low speed i feel like i could fly! But it's perfect, as it can push the air very far in the house, from the front to the back house, so we don't always have to move it around. It does freshens up a lot. Sturdy, pretty for my loft, and do not have a lot of moving piece that might break. Simple enough to last i hope. Exactly what we needed, and we love love it!

Good quality and strong but fan is too loud on low speed
Seems like a very good product so far but the fan is too powerful and loud on low speed. This is a unit that is better suited for commercial applications where you need a lot of power even on low speed and don't care too much about the sound while in low speed. Not adequate for keeping you cool while sleeping. Too loud.

It cools your room fast.
This fan is amazing .I have it in my bedroom and I've never slept better. I only have to put it on its first speed and bam it has cool the room down in matter of seconds. It is abit loud but doesn't bug me. Just turn it on and sit back and relax .
