Tastes the same as the Neuhaus I bought in Brussels.
I lived in Brussels for several years. There was a Neuhaus shop right down the street. We were frequent customers. This product IS no different than the chocolate we bought in Belgium. It's just as delicious and IS a product from Belgum. This is a special treat that we purchase on Amazon frequently. Unfortunately, I don't trust the heat so we'll be buying our last box until summer is over. Don't believe the reviews saying it doesn't come close, because it IS the same and worth every penny.

Marvelous Belgian Chocolates - wish we had more control on the choices
I lived many years in Brussels and discovered the joys of quality chocolate (sorry Hershey, Mars, etc..... your stuff is merely chocolate adjacent). The chocolates are heavy on cocoa, light on salt and always carry an expiration date. Even grocery store chocolates were a true delight (now available at most Trader Joes). It was outrageously expensive but for a once a year indulgence, greatly appreciated. I would have appreciated a truly classic ballotin without all the unneeded plastic holding the chocolates. I don't remember ever seeing this in Brussels - but maybe they think it is necessary for transport? Come on, Neuhaus.....don't give in to American overuse of all things plastic. Find a better way. That said, if you like real dark chocolate and artisanal creations, this is the chocolate for you. I would have preferred the ballotin with only dark chocolates, but it wasn't available at the time we ordered. I really wish I could rate this higher than a 5 because it is exceptional. And, if you are ever in Beligium, buy the ballotins at "duty free" and your friends will love you for it.

box comes very well packaged
Newhouse chocolates are one of the best chocolate houses in the world and the way the box was packaged with an ice bag and aluminum foil makes sure the chocolates arrived ready to eat.

Not even close to the real Belgian Neuhaus
I had a real box of Neuhaus chocolates for Christmas in Europe and decided to try it again in the USA. Visibly the same box was an absolute joke in terms of quantity, quality, and selection. The US version has 3 stories of repeating themes instead of 4-5 stories of unique themes. Why only 3 stories? Because so much space is dedicated to cardboard trays where in Europe the stories are separated by thin slices of paper. The legend paper is legit but useless in the USA as 75% of those items are missing from the boc. The number of chocolates is half or less of those found in Europe. The taste is also a joke and no better than any brand sold at Walgreens-nothing like the real Belgian Neuhaus. Finally, the price is a ripoff!

Delicious!
I bought these as a gift for my daughter’s birthday. She loved them and said they were the best she’s ever had.I have purchased these in person before from the Neuhaus candy store in Brussels. I was hoping they would be as good and happy they are.

Showed up MELTED but they replaced them ASAP
These are my favourite chocolate and always buy a lot at duty free or while in Europe and sometime when I travel with Brussels Airline they give you a free box! Sadly they don’t have a store in Los Angeles where I live! I have ordered them on amazon in the past and recently with another vendor and they arrived just fine. There is no return on them either!!! disappointing! To my surprise... when I reached out to them, they asked if I wanted a refund or a new ones. I opted for another shipment and this time they arrived intact I think due to much faster shipping time to hot california.Great product and great customer service!

An indulgence worth the price (occasionally)
This is the loveliest chocolate I've eaten. Several years ago, I first stumbled upon Neuhaus marked down 50% at Macy's after Christmas. I didn't know the brand, so I'm guessing that the promise of fine Belgian chocolate at a reduced price lured me in. Well, Neuhaus is everything it claims to be. It is amazing Belgian chocolate, and worth the splurge. The only criticism I have pertains to the product information online. Instead of using more general terms such as "milk chocolate assortment", I wish the product info listed the specific names of the chocolates that will come in each ballotin. Each ballotin comes with a booklet listing all of their candies, and I'm always hoping to try more of the options. Even the Neuhaus website is vague about the chocolate pralines contained in the various types of ballotins.
