My toddler is absolutely obsessed with the "Happy" song. Did you know there's a 24-hour "Happy" music video? Neither did I, until my son randomly heard Happy on the radio and began insisting we listen to it all day, every day. Seriously, we play the 24-hour music video every waking moment of every day. I now tell time in Pharrell Hours (at the top of every hour of the music video, Pharrell is on). I've forgotten what other music sounds like. It's my son's favorite everything: song, show, color, food, animal--If you ask him what his favorite of any of these is, the answer is Happy. Always Happy. And he hasn't even seen Despicable Me 2.Anyway, if you have a toddler as obsessed with Happy as mine, this book is a must. Now we not only listen to Happy on repeat even minute of the day, we also read the book version anywhere from 10-75 times per day. The lyrics of the song are written in fun, bold letters on the pages, and there are pictures of cute kids in festive outfits. We discuss the lyrics (well of course) plus what the kids are doing and wearing. This book is also a good way to learn the lyrics of the song (although not as good as listening to the song on repeat until it's burned into your brain).

Even though the book is basically the lyrics of Pharell's song "Happy" the photographs behind the lyrics helps my 4 year old daughter remember which line she's "reading". The book has helped inspire her to learn to read and that alone has paid for the book. We initially borrowed the book from the library but she loved it so much that I bought a copy for her. No regrets.

I was frankly disappointed with the Happy! Book written by Pharrell Williams. I believe that Pharrell could have written a better book, if he had not done so much of it himself. While I do not know this earnestly, it seems that Pharrell could have used input from elementary teachers, in Des Moines, Iowa. Finally, the regular rhyme scheme that is in the song; is clearly absent from the book. Towards the end, there is a letter to students ( Ithink?); However, it seems to be over the heads of youth. That letter definitely needs a trim. The book is a good idea that needs to be reshaped.

I love that this book features actual kids in the illustrations. I hear Pharelle’s voice in my head when I read it. We got the board book version for toddlers to enjoy, but even the kindergarten students at our school like this book!

I bought this book for my nephew. I love Pharrell Williams and this book did not dissapoint. The layout was easy to follow and the illustrations and pictures of real children of different ethnicity was great to see. Simple message yet very poignant when done right. Well done!!

When you read the lyrics like a book they don’t make much sense but my daughter likes the kids jumping around in the book.

Its a simple yet effective concept and great book. We love the message behind.My kid adores this and doesn't even realize its a #1 song. My kid is barely 24 months and already knows the words.Very positive and motivational. Hope you come out with more positive uplifting books.

I love this song and was very pleased to find a book that went with the music I purchased. Good to read or sing along while flipping pages back and forth.
