Great for catching hive beetles! Fill the trap with oil and place it between two frames.

Messy, expensive, not the best design
Update after 5 days (see pic) - when I pulled the lid off there wasn't a single beetle on the inner cover. The curled edges did exactly what I thought. Several beetles had not gone in the trap but were tucked under the warped edges. This was quite a few beetles. Also because the oil does squeeze out of the top and despite wiping it up, I found several dead bees in the oil. This simply clogs the trap and requires more maintenance to keep the trap working as it was intended. Despite all these cons it did what it was meant to do. It trapped and drowned beetles very well.Because they are a bit pricey and the home made traps work equally well but are not messy at all, I would recommend using the blasters in only your bottom brood boxes and your diy traps on the top of the inner cover. This will be more economical. Also because the bees fill in around the traps quickly, and this in itself is enough to push oil out, you have to check them often. I found several drowned bees on top. I almost got angry when I saw the dead queen but realized it was two bees stuck together.I still support a smarter design and hope improveements are made, it will be a much better product in the end.Dislikes - messy, warped edges, expensiveYou can fill the trap and then place it. For me it resulted in dumping especially with bulky gloves on. Used 2 per brood box between brood and honey frames.Because filling it before putting it between frames was so messy the next two blasters were put it in the hive box first then filled but as you can see the tops are black which means you can't tell how full it is.A better design would allow a removable top and a rigid plastic so the oil doesn't squeeze out the top when placing it between frames. Also for the price it should be reusable. I will see how much they catch. In the meantime I am making my own traps from sandwich Tupperware. If I get similar results I cannot justify spending that much money for 10 beetle blasters. Will update in 2 weeks.

Extremely poor quality control
Very cheaply made, and extremely poor quality control. Only about half of the ones in my order are usable, two have large melted holes in the oil reservoir. And all other have been crushed to the point that a few of them slowly leak oil out of the creased plastic. *****UPDATE***** ***Been in the hive for over 2 weeks. I have caught 1 SHB, but you lift the trap up and 10 or more start scurrying around! The black rim will not fit flush on top of the frames. So the SHB run under the trap and hide!******

Yay! for these traps
These traps really really work, and thanks heavens for that because we were facing a terrible problem with those blasted beetles. We have been able to flush out the traps when full and reuse them.

Works great.
Used these for years as beetles in MS are a serious problem. I've yet to find a 1 stop solution for them but rather use multiple techniques to help the bee's to control them. These are the best traps I've found though, easy to use, and catch a lot of beetles. I have 4 in the top of every hive.

Use just a little bit of oil & put the oil in an old ketchup container for easier use.
I have been using these for years. I love them & so do the bees. One time I bought the kind that you can take apart to clean. This was a mistake & disaster. Stick with these disposable kind.

It works as it says it will!
I had a serious issue with small hive beattles and installed this traps in addition to the unscented swiffer sheets. After 3 days I went back to inspect my hives and had a reduction of about 60-70% of beatles in my hives. I am ordering more and will use only these and stop the swiffer sheets which trapped some of my Italian girls too!I love these and it works! The traps had several dead beattles and not a single dead bee. I mixed organic peanut oil and organic apple cider vinager.Awesome stuff!

NOT THE ORIGINAL
These are cheap knockoffs. They are not the original Better Beetle Blaster beetle traps. Many of the edges will not lay flat, and even a few wouldn't even hold the oil properly. Do yourself a favor & purchase the original traps. Not available on Amazon.
