Good valve!
It arrived quickly, and it is heavy duty and it is of good quality, it can be used in tight spaces. I wanted to install shutoff valves for my bathroom or lavatory sink. It is a small space. My plumbing is half inch. I want half inch for male and female ends. In my area it was difficult to find valves of that size. Many valves use knobs, or large knife valves, they probably not fit in my tight area. This worked wonderfully. Disadvantage; I am a do it yourselfer, I don't do plumbing often. I saw the picture of the rubber washer, thought I could install it without sealing the threads from leaking. Wrong thought. The joint leaked. The threads have to be sealed. Ok, there were no instructions, no words saying to seal the threads, but teflon tape was included in the package, I did not notice it right away. I did apply the tape, still leaked. Using pipe sealant/lubricant paste alone, it still leaked. My local plumber's advice to me was to start over, clean the threads, and use the paste on the threads, then wrap 3 or 4 or more times with tape on top of the paste. That worked!! The valves were tough enough it wasn't damaged by the several turnings with the wrench. Be careful, the new valves are hard to open, makes you wonder if you are turning them the right way, so pay attention, think of how to turn the valves. Turn it open and close a few times to loosen it up.

This was an idential replacement for the same unit that I had installed years back.
This is an excellent water control valve and saves the water usage of one of my typical showers by approximately 65 percent. I turn the control value down to a light flow except when I want to wash off the soap or shampoo.

Superb.
I've bought several other of this type of valves to handle the simple job of shutting off water from my shower head. One of the valves was admittingly a temporary one that I was testing proof of concept. It worked flawlessly for two years. I got my money's worth! The second one was made of metal and had the beauty to go with what I wanted for a long term solution. It was absolutely horrible. It leaked repeatedly and was worse than the plastic one that it replaced. So with a bit of trepidation I order this one. I paid more for this than the other one that had a better looking finish, but this unit is flawless. It is not pretty. But it does in fact stop water from leaking and is as good as the plastic valve was when new. I'm expecting this unit to be as good for a longer duration which makes the money spent for this well worth the price.

Worked great
This valve was very easy to install. I installed mine on the end of the shower hose between the hose and the shower head. I inserted the rubber washer in the female end of the valve and screwed it finger tight to the shower head; no need for the teflon tape. I then screwed the shower hose to the valve and it worked like a charm, no leeks and it regulates the water speed/volume easily.

Works MUCH better than the "push cylinder" valve I tried before
Attached this to a handheld shower sprayer at the sprayer end and while it added a bit of length, it is much easier to operate than a different valve I tried which was a cylinder that you'd push through from one side or the other - that one seized up after only a couple of months of use. This valve is holding strong and while it has a good amount of tension, my child can still operate it (with both hands). If you have small hands you may find difficulty operating it one-handed (I use my fingers to hold the pipe and thumb to push the valve handle), but it works quite well.My only small gripe is that there's a lot of threading at the male end - it's about 1/4-inch longer than I needed but I guess more threading is better than not enough.

Shuts off water initially. Easy to see.
Went right on and will fully shutoff water or allow different levels up to full flow.Only have used it a few times but no leaks. Put washer on supply side to take up some threads and also put on tape.It is firm and has solid stops so you know where it is on and off. I have it mounted to metal but it might be too hard to turn on cheap plastic.Update: it just stopped turning off all the way and has gotten progressively worse over a few more days is almost a steady stream now

Does exactly as intended
While this valve is not an exact match to our chrome shower valves it is a quality piece and it works great. I installed it between the hand shower wand and its supply hose. Right when I received it I knew it was good by the weight of it. It is silver in color but not chrome and I could care less. Many "chrome" pieces are really cheap plastic and very poor quality that leak and don't last. Also it came with the washer and teflon tape so you don't need anything else to install. Definitely a 5 star product.

Would not recommend
After a while of using, the shutoff valve becomes hard to close

Leaks like crazy
This valve leaks! I installed it on the shower head and it leaks. Don't buy it. I returned it to the seller. And the seller charged 25 CAD for shipping. Nice job guys!!! 0 stars to your valve. And 0 stars to the seller! The worst experience on Amazon so far. I would suggest Amazon to ban and block such sellers on the platform.
