Splintered my cat's nails
I liked the look and feel of these cutters when I pulled them out of the box, but on my first use it cracked and splintered every nail I tried to cut on my cat. I gave up after 3 when it was clear that the cutters were making things worse. I don't know if they weren't sharp enough or what- I even watched a video before hand to make sure I was positioning the claw properly. I went back to the scissor type cutter.

Great clippers
These clippers work very well. I got the small ones to use on my rabbits and guinea pigs. It is very easy to see where you are cutting the nail which is especially useful if they have black nails and you cannot see the quick. They are made very well and I like that they have a no slip grip on the handles because it is hard to hold onto a fidgety bunny and the clippers and it really helps. They are sharp and make a very clean cut. I have always been scared about cutting my rabbits nails too short but I found a really good tip. Place the clippers on the nail below the quick if you can see it and on a dark nail try not to go up too far. Squeeze the clipper against the nail but don't cut through, do this two more times and if the rabbit doesn't try to pull away you are probably safe to cut if he does pull away move the clipper down and you now have a line on the nail from your test to go by to go below. This method worked really well for me and with these clippers I was able to do it quickly and painlessly. I was so relieved!!! Remember when clipping your animals nails to always have some styptic powder, water and cotton swaps near by just in case you do hit the quick you can stop the bleeding quickly and most powders have an antiseptic and something to numb the pain. Better safe than sorry.

start with the best
after cutting my two 8LB cats 18 nails every 2 months for the past 7 years, I have used clippers and nippers of every type. cutting cat nails with a scissor fulcrum type device, is like trying to cut an onion in half with a scissor, as the layer nature of the item you are cutting defeats the action of any scissor. so I finally caved and spent the premium cost on this guillotine blade based design, and I absolutely love it. I'm in better control, more confident of my nail position, cutting stroke and "pop" sound release this makes. It's small head design does not obstruct my view, and the grip pads keep it from twisting in my hand. It's easier to nibble cut - when you take of a bit at a time on the same nail which I often do on the hind nails where you can't see the quick where your cats chew on their nails. I have not used this trimmer long enough to have to replace the blade, but I own a ceramic stick knife sharpener, so I should be able to get a few more cutting sessions out of each blade by sharpening them myself... we'll see. I'll update this review once I get to that point.

Good Clippers, Not Perfect
Being a cat lover my whole life I get a bit fussy when it comes to trimming my cats nails. I have used countless styles of cat nail clippers over the years and have never been 100% happy with any of them. That said I will also add the guillotine style ones are my preferred as I feel I get a more accurate and quicker snip when clipping the nails. These clippers do a decent job tho not perfect. Occasionally they don't get a clean cut and the nail splits but that seems to be the norm for me over the years with various other clippers. A quick very firm squeeze keeps this down to a minimum. Overall I think I got what I expected out of these clippers and would recommend them but I'm still on the look out for the perfect cat nail clippers.

Cat Nail Clipper
Really have no complaints about this other than they were not real easy for me to use to clip cats claws. It seemed a little awkward but guess the more experienced you become with clipping cats claws the easier they would be to use. My vet recommended these to me.

Best Animal Clippers Available
Thé Resco Co., pioneered thé guillotiné style clipper, so it stands to reason that they have developed an excellent product ! Definitely worth a few bucks more.

works great so far
The best nail clipper I've had for cats. The hard part is getting the kitten to sit still for the triming part. I'm pretty slow so I wait until he's asleep in my lap and them try to trim his nails. By the time i've got the fur out of the way and got the nail exposed he wakes up and jerks away. . It's a learning experience for both of us. These clippers make it easy. I did take off a star because the inner part is loose and I'm not sure if that is a defect or supposed to wiggle like that. the screws are tight so could not get them any tighter.

Easy to use, but not as sharp as hoped
I used these to trim my cat's nails once, and it went well. Or, as well as it can go when a cat suspects you are going to cut his toes off (why are they so suspicious of clippers?). I did find the design a tad bit confusing, as I can never remember which way around to put the nail in the little guillotine. Minor quibble, though. However, the second time I used these, it did not go as well. My cat's nail cracked and split, and the poor little guy now is getting all sorts of fuzz and litter stuck in his shredded claws. I'm not up for trying it a 3rd time because I feel so bad about his claw situation, so I think my experiment in home grooming is at an end. I don't know if this was operator error, or the trimmers going dull super fast, but if I had to do it again I'd probably go for one of the scissor-type trimmers instead.

Works ok.
It works but not for the novice. Better suited for dogs. The opening is too big for cats so you have to be careful. However with practice it’s ok. Better than most other nail clippers but if you can get the zen nail clippers, they are amazing!!

Best cat nail trimmers
Easy to use, especially on a kitten that never had his nails clipped ever. Have used these nail clippers in the past and are the only ones that I'll buy. Great product, extremely fast shipping coming two days earlier. Thanks for shipping so quickly it was very much needed!!

I would not recommend this product
I'm likely not using this instrument correctly. I found this tool dull. Our cat's nail/knuckle just twisted side-ways when I squeeze the handles.Went back to the nail clippers we had been using.I would not recommend this product.
