I too wear a size 8.5, and ordered the Women’s US 7-8 and they fit perfectly.

Will they provide non-slip in a bath tub shower comparable to a bath mat?

I bought them for this purpose. They are absolutely non-slip. I feel very safe when wearing them in the shower.

i wear a size 8=8 1/2 shoe but y feet slide way forward with the 7-8. will i make a mistake buying the 6-7?

I bought and returned this skippers twice. Sizing is terrible. I could not make it right.

Definitely not the American flags make it seem so but they are made in China
