I read it all in one night
A spectacular finish to a spectacular series.I absolutely love how many strong female characters are in this book: Naari, Ashlyn, Cresta, Mirryn, and Zuleeka.Ashlyn and Cresta being in this book a lot made it SO much better. The two of them plus Caldon are probably my favorite characters, as they were strong, funny(all in different ways), and entertaining. It’s impossible not to love Caldon, as anyone else who’s read the other books know, and so is Cresta, but in a different way. She was absolutely hilarious in The Blood Traitor, in an unapologetically forward way, while Ashlyn wasn’t just “really funny”, but I still loved her, and you can totally tell that her and Caldon are siblings.(THIS REST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)Cresta’s redemption arc was amazing!! I was so happy to see such a turn around for her.And Cresta x Caldon, and Ashlyn x Torell, was just Perfect.Caldon and Kiva’s relationship was amazing, I looked forward to seeing them together more than kiva and jaren!Things I didn’t like:- jaren was SUCH a pain in the butt for like….THE FIRST HALF OF THE BOOK. Like come on.- Tipp. It was just so unrealistic that they brought Tipp along, when if they were smart, they would have left an 11 year old boy somewhere else while they traveled looking for the rings.- “And now we dream.” Noo, that was one of the worst, cringiest, ending lines to a book I’ve read. I felt like it could have been done much better. But even with all that, The Prison Healer was such a good series, and Lynnette Noni did not disappoint with the last installment in this page turning series.

AMAZING
This. was just. Absolutely. AMAZING. I need more, I loved this trilogy so so much.Series review:First of all, I need an entire book filled only with Caldon quotes. Stat.Second, can someone please adapt this series? Like, right now?Wow.I don't know if there's even a better word to describe this series. I bought it on good faith, having never read a Lynette Noni book before, and I was not disappointed. I love this trilogy, and it's one of the few where when I finished it, I immediately wanted more. Her twists are amazing, like, J.K. Rowling style amazing, in my opinion. The feelings I got while reading these books reminded me of when I read Harry Potter for the first time a few years ago.I threw the first book when I finished it. (It was an accident, a jerk reaction, but oh my gosh it was just SO good)I'd picked up on her formula by the third book and called a twist, but she still genuinely surprised me with others. And they made sense. Because she'd already planted those threads and left you with that"ohhhhh" realization that we readers love. Her plot. Her characters. Her twists. Her worlds. I need more. The second book was my favorite, the politics, family dynamics, and Caldon just made me laugh so much. Please just go read these books so I can gush about them to you. Not convinced? I just dethroned another series to make room for this trilogy on my shelf with my favorite books.

The best ending to a triolgy
Ok, trying to do this without spoilers, but also assuming people have already read TPH and TGC.“You are who you choose to be…you are what you choose to be. And right now, you need to choose to live. You can figure the rest out later.”This book was the best type of emotional rollercoaster. Honestly, I laughed out loud so many times, I cried, I gasped, my jaw hit the floor at more than one point. It was a fantastic conclusion to The Prison Healer trilogy. The Blood Traitor picks up where The Gilded Cage left off, with Kiva back in Zalindov. Only this time she isn’t the prison healer, just a regular prisoner, and Rooke isn’t exactly happy that she escaped the first time. With no hope of a second escape after Jaren discovered the truth of her identity and her sister being the one to put her in there, things are not looking good. We see the return of some familiar faces in Zalindov, and damn if one of them doesn’t become one of my favourite characters! I saw some things coming which made me feel smug and clever when they were revealed, but others slapped me in the face. There is a quest, uneasy alliances, betrayal, new friendships, and even though Kiva is now sure of what she wants, it seems to be out of her grasp.Lynette Noni writes some of my favourite friendships ever. She started in The Medoran Chronicles and this series is no different. The wholesomeness of Caldon and Tipp and others just melts my heart. She also writes some of the funniest lines ever.*no context quote*“Happy kitty!”“That’s a dead rat.”“Sad kitty.”It’s just…just read it. You will not regret it.
