Must read
This series is a tale of what could happen if SHTF in reality and if you occasionally wear a tin foil hat how corporations and big government conspire. If that is your preferred fantasy then choose The Remaining series and The Lee Harden series to read.

DJ Molles Finishes Out the Harden Series with a BANG!!
I'll give a quick, non-spoilery review, because Amazon inadvertently shipped my copy more quickly than anticipated and so I received my copy on the 8th, instead of Release Day, which was the 11th. Then I read it from cover to cover; I couldn't put it down! That said, this book was a phenomenal closer to the Lee Harden series! The explosive action is still very much in full force, and the reader's ears are left ringing from all the gunfighting, and grenades going off!! Also, all the lead characters have a chance to shine, and a lot of plot-lines are wrapped up! These characters get a fitting send-off, and I feel like overall, the book was an excellent balance between exposition and action (something DJ Molles is known for). I have to say that I was not disappointed by this book in the slightest, because it gave me everything I was looking for, and I DO think I'll enjoy it even more on a second readthrough, starting at the Book 1, so that everything is fresh in my mind again. Highly, HIGHLY recommended. And pick up the Remaining Sextet if you haven't already, and for the love'a mike, read those first! The Criticism (if it could be called that)[VERY MINOR SPOILER]:I will say that we aren't given a 100% satisfactory conclusion of all that new strangeness that came about with the Primals. We don't ever really find out who the Strange Ones are, or why they can talk, or find out much more about the Omegas and the Alpha. Also, this book DOES end on a "And the adventure continues" sort of thing, which if I'm being honest, feels very much like Mr. Molles has left a door unlocked, juuuuuuuust in case he wants to come back to this Universe again. I'm grateful for it, because there were a few moments in the last quarter of the book where I was sure "This is it, this is the end of everything!" only for some great plot-twist and dialogue to happen instead.Ultimately, even if we don't get any more books in this universe, these 12 books are some of my favorite books, and I've read and reread them many times. Other books in this genre tend to fall flat, and I can't always put my finger on it, other than to say that I expected them to be as good as the Remaining/Harden books, and they just never are.Man, end of an era here.

Good read
I read the first four Lee Hardin books, missed the fifth. I read this one and didn't miss a beat. It was a good read.

Uneven Conclusion (Spoilers)
Let me start off by saying I am a fan of both this series, the series which preceded it and the author. Was sad to see the series end and wish him success in his future works. Here are my thoughts on the final book, in no particular order. The first half of the book drags on a bit. I realize the battle for Greeley is the big pay off from the prior book. I think the author was trying to drive home how difficult a task the battle is, but I think it could have been tightened up a bit. I’d like to subtract maybe 100 pages from the first half and add those 100 pages to the second half.I’ll just say it – I didn’t care about Angela or Abby’s story at all in this book. Their chapters were very difficult to get through and I just wanted them to be over. They didn’t really need to be there at all and slowed down the book. I understand wanting to wrap-up their story, but their chapters didn’t work for me. Angela was annoying and so was Abby. I think they did Angela a bit dirty to be honest, but ultimately she was a supporting character and I didn’t need as much time with her as I got. Abby I was kind of curious what they would do with after the last book, but didn’t really need the answer. Their chapters were probably my biggest irritation.Primals are reduced to being a sort of generic threat that appears late in the book. I would have liked to learn more about the different types of Primals established and their abilities (e.g. Omegas, Strange Ones, etc.) – but we never really get that. They are basically included as the catalyst for the action that unfolds – but there really isn’t anything about their “lore”. We learn a very tiny bit about the origin of their creation, but not too much. There are some redundancies in terms of the characters inner thoughts and realizations. It is good to read how Lee and Sam particularly grow and realize new things about themselves – but I feel that starts to go in circles. I may have to re-read the prior novels on Brinley to see if where he sort of ends up was established or if that sort of just cropped up. The Canadians/UK characters sort of just vanish. I understand why that was needed for story purposes but I was sort of expecting one or two of them to re-appear but didn’t.We did get some resolution though with Lee, Abe, and Sam which it was nice to close that loop a bit. Jones I could see fitting in with their crew (so Lee and Sam each have their friend/comrade in arms with them), though Marie seemed out of place.Overall I enjoyed the series and I am glad I read it. Some of my thoughts above may just be personal preference stuff and you know what they say about opinions. Thanks for the journey and looking forward to what may come next from the author.

What a finish!
Once I got started reading Terminus I couldn't stop. The book from start to finish kept me on the edge of my seat. What a way to end this series. I can only hope that there is an "archangel" series ready to kick off starring our merry band of "dead" people.

Thank goodness that's over
If you had asked me a few years ago if I ever imagined putting off reading a Lee Harden book, I'd have thought you were mad. But having plodded through this sad tale, I'm glad it's finished. The civil war series of Harden books is not a patch on the Remaining series. By the time we get to this Terminal, sorry, Terminus, book what is left of Lee Harden is physically and mentally broken old bloke who has lost the plot. Unfortunately, everyone around him turns out to be mentally defective as well - the manic mother, the commander with an Alamo complex and the vengeance blinded marine all do their own thing at critical moments, putting their own agendas before the fighters and civilians they are responsible for. The final attack on Greerly is doomed from the outset as the people in charge were.....insane, selfish. In an attempt to save the 'United' States, both sides of the battel we were waiting for in Book 5, were happy to kill, maim and torture anyone and everyone. The Canadians and Brits turned into cliches of what Americans think of both countries people and soldiers. And still, at the end, there was still more military hardware in play than along the Ukrainian / Russian battlefront. Like all video game shoot 'em ups, there is loads of ammo available to all.And don't get me started on multiple war-headed nuclear weapons. When I got to the END, I happily threw my Kindle across the room, partly cross with DJ Molles for writing this crud but mainly cross with myself for being unable to resist buying and reading it.Whether it is all finally over for Lee Harden (what's left of him) fans or not it is definitely the last purchase of a DJ Molles book by me.The quality of James Cooks Surviving the Dead series and spinoffs still improves because he can twist and turn with different central characters and his characterisation gets richer and richer as time goes by. Similarly, Sam Sisavaths Babylon based series has some amazing spin-offs all brilliantly written.DJ Molles was the master with the Remaining series then these others stepped in.

Perfection
I have been in love with the Remaining universe since I stumbled across them on Amazon in 2015. Since then I have waited eagerly for each new instalment and they never ever disappoint. Sure there are little niggly things that I could pick out and grouse about, but the bottom line is that these are absolutely fantastic works of fiction. Superb imagery, excellent plot lines and real depth of character. I’m not going to give any spoilers but I’ll admit that this did not end the way I had expected… at all. And that is a good thing believe me! The only thing I really thought it was missing was when Lee was reminiscing about the past, I thought it would be a nice touch to include more memories from Lee himself. Like his feelings about Harper, Bus, LaRouche etc and how things played out with all those characters who died in the wake of his mission goals of Subvenire Refectus. But I digress… fantastic book, fantastic series (all 12 of them) and I thoroughly recommend them all for whatever that is worth!

A perfect end to a perfect series!
DJ Molles has written what I can only describe as a masterpiece. From The Remaining to Terminus, the character arc Lee Harden has been through has been masterfully written. Just wow. Never a dull moment in this series, from warfare between humans, to the war against the dead.
