I love this paper towel holder in my somewhat vintage kitchen. It's so pretty and is holding up well. I buy my paper towels at Costco and those slip right over the top, but I think it's worth it even if you have to take the crystal knob off to put the roll on.

My PW paper towel holder is nicer than anticipated! It is heavy, nice quality piece. It came well wrapped and in excellent shape despite the fact that the amazon box was considerably roughed up and even had a few holes.
