Christopher Knight Home Idalia Dining Chairs, 2-Pcs Set, Dark Grey / Walnut Finish

Bought this for the kitchen that has a round glass top table. Kitchen is black/white/dark grey with stainless appliances. The wood is a nice walnut color and the grey almost matches the cabinets. Vey easy assembly. Very comfortable for the young kids to the hulking adult who is 6'5 and 300 lbs.

Update: cushion is quickly becoming more uncomfortable. Screws keep loosening. No broken chairs out of 6. Downgrading to 3 stars from 3.6 .. I will downgrade to 1 star if one breaks, but I won't upgrade to 4 stars.----- Original review ------ Cushion seems like it will flatten easily, but it's okaish.- They seem sturdy when you initially assemble them, then they loosen a little bit, and you have to retighten them, at least that was my experience, and some people have experienced breakages (see other reviews).- Assembly is a bit of pain, but nothing crazy if you've dealt with furniture before. It's not IKEA friendly, but it's definitely not a puzzle either.Here are a few assembly tips:- Don't tighten the fasteners all the way in at first, NOR do them all the way one by one or you may damage the wood- To attach the seat cushion properly, make sure it's symmetric on both sides and goes all the way in with the "thin" side to the back rest.- Once the seat cushion is positioned symmetrically, attach the L brackets to the cushion, making sure the sides of the chair fit tightly with the L brackets, this will keep the cushion positioned properly.- USE A DRILL with a small drill bit through the L bracket into the wood to drill a pilot hole, this will help you fasten the screw more easily.- now go ahead and screw the brackets to the seat, don't tighten it all the way in.- follow the instructions on dropping the chair from 1ft up on its legs in order to "level" them.- Tighten all the screws in steps.- Congrats, your chair won't still be leveled (it balances on 2 legs.. mentioned on the reviews too), but it will be assembled.- Chairs won't wobble once you sit in them though, and this will loosen the assembly, which will require you to re-tighten them again.in my experience, the wobbling and the extra steps for the assembly were still not a deal breaker though, these chairs are beautiful.If I don't update this review in a year, then it means the chairs made it past that, and I would rate them with my current 4 stars (up from the 3.6 stars that I can't set). If one of the 6 chairs breaks I will downgrade this to 1 star.

My concern was that based on the reviews it was going to be a nightmare to assemble them. I opted to do one step, read the instructions for the next couple of steps, completed the next step, and kept repeating it. The first one was perfectly balanced. The second one took less time to assemble and was again perfectly balanced. I had wood glue and I used it on some of the areas for extra insurance.They are good quality and comfortable, and they look good!

These chairs look great. They were easy to assemble and all parts were in the package. You will need a phillips screw driver.Note that the material is particle board not solid wood. It makes easy assembly and they are sturdy but may not stand heavy usage or tipping back. Still, a 5 star item.

These look great and the wood parts are sturdy and beautiful. The cushion is not as sturdy, and I do not think these chairs could be used as a stepladder to reach things on the top shelf because of the flimsy cushions. If used solely as chairs, they seem they will last awhile.
