Amazing add-on with lacking instructions
This is a very solid and very well thought out addition to any Mustang without navigation. The instructions are not bad but incomplete. They describe colors in the instructions but ship out black and white copies. Here are some tips for those who are installing this themselves.I installed this in a 2011 Mustang GT with the SYNC option. I take no responsibility for any typos or any damage to your car from the following these instructions.Got to the Americanmuscle.com and download the instructions to a tablet or print them out. [...]Do step one only from the instructionsInstall the camera first.Camera uses 3 parts, Camera with male connector, cable with female and male connector and cable that connected to main aftermarket unit.Remove license platePlace camera between the 2 license plate lights and eye where the male connector from the camera will go. Should be right above the license plate.Drill ½ hole for the male connector and feed it in the hole.Open trunk and remove large plastic piece that contains the light by removing 4 plastic fasteners and then pulling up.Should be a rubber grommet with a large nipple to your right and the nipple side should be facing toward the front of the car. Remove it and take the tape off.Feed the long camera cable, male side, through the grommet on the flat side " non nipple side" first. A vertical cut will have to be made on the nipple to get the cable through. *Female side will be left on the flat side and the male side will be left on the nipple side.Find both cables underneath the car and connect them. This can be a little tricky because the camera side cable is short.Pull cable from trunk until you pull the connectors into the trunk and use black tape to wrap the two connectors.Pull slack through the grommet and wrap with black tape over the cut you made in step f.Put grommet back and run cable underneath the trunk carpet. I opened a near by wire loom and ran the cable inside the cabin.Fold the down the passenger seat on the driver side and continue to run the cable. A plastic fastener may need to come off. Run it all the way until you reach the panel that has the hood release. You may have to remove the sill panel in a later step.Mount camera and reinstall all pieces removed.Run GPSI took the white label off the GPS unit so it would not show up on the other side of the glass.Use some clear silicone to attach the GPS right next to the mount of the rear view mirror. This can be done last.Run cable in the headliner then down the A pillar past the hood release panel down to where you left the camera cable. I got the GPS cable stuck so I had to remove the A pillar, hood and sill panel.Run camera and GPS cables underneath the drivers side carpetcontinue to step to of instructionsNotes on install manualStep 2: If you drive a manual you wont need to perform this stepStep 3:AC Module Removal: Bend metal clip on each side for easier removalRemoval OEM Radio Unit: Either the GPS or Radio connector is a pain to remove.

Navigation for Mustang
I checked with a local auto stereo installation place prior to ordering and they said they would install the Carshow into my 2013 Mustang 5.0, although they'd never seen one before. They tackled the job and after three trips there and numerous phone calls to tech support at Rosen Electronics, they were able to complete the job. The installation instructions were a bit vague on several points, and thus I rated the unit a 4 versus a 5. I'm happy the way the unit looks and operates. After having NAV in my previous 7 vehicles, I missed it. I did find the maps a bit dated and the speed limits are not correct at times. But the same holds true on my factory installed NAV on my 2013 Edge Limited too. What I like too is that you can view the rear view camera either while in reverse or anytime at the press of a button. I'm hoping upgrades to the maps will be forthcoming although the path to upgrade is a bit uncertain. Checking on the internet, Amazon provided the lowest price for this unit. Some outlets were charging double the price for the same item. Overall, I'd highly recommend this unit to another Mustang owner wanting to add navigation to his/her car.

Great upgrade
I have a 2013 GT Premium coupe with the shaker 500 system. This is the perfect upgrade for a navi system which also supports the SYNC functions.I would buy this CS system anytime again! Everything works great.

Great but you can tell it isnt factory software.
I would say the same thing as everyone else. Great looking. Bad instructions.Everything was looking great but it seems that when I jump from nav to radio and back it sometimes gets stuck on radio and the button will not work. The button isn't broken so it seems to be a software issue. I am wondering if there will ever be an update. I am not sure if a map update will do it or will it have to be a complete software update. As long as you don't jump back and forth a lot everything works great.Glad I bought it even wit the issue.
