I was still using the original from 1961, with the cover falling off. Yes it is outdated and I found this edition to be an excellent update. I'll probably use it until the cover also falls off. Too many scoff at slang and the bad words, but it is a serious work that is part of American English Language. An excellent reference for anyone to have.

Great book! Wow, it is extensive! Bought it for my Spanish tutor, who also happens to be an English learner. She is always asking me what slang phrases mean that I say. This book has everything! Seller shipped the book very quickly.
