*These blocks are not recommended for CARVING. *TIPS for USING NATURAL WOOD BLOCKS WEATHERING & STAINING - To achieve a naturally weathered look you may use a mixture of white vinegar and steal wool. Use two to three cups of white vinegar and pour in a small container. Next add a FINE, steel wool pad and allow 5-10 minutes for the vinegar to begin breaking it down. You may want to stir occasionally. Dip a sponge brush or rag into the mixture and apply to a scrap piece of wood until desired look is achieved. *ADD COFFEE GROUNDS, BALSAMIC VINEGAR, OR TEA BAGS IF A DIFFERENT SHADE OF STAIN IS DESIRED. STAINING Be sure to have any paint, stain, or other materials you intend to use on your blocks MIXED completely before applying. Hardwoods should absorb evenly unlike soft woods. ALWAYS test a scrap piece of wood or a side of the block that will not be used or visible in your finished project to ensure even coatings.
