It is not for the total beginners
It is not for the total beginners. My husband bought this drum for me after we saw someone else playing the drum at the concert. The reason we bought this particular drum is because the description of the drum says that it includes an instructional video. The assembling of the drum is very easy. But there are not much of the instructions of how to play.. A video DVD shows someone playing songs that included in the book of songs but without any single word of instructions or explanations. If you have no idea how to hold mallets/sticks, it is not that easy to understand by the description they offer in their booklet. Also, you are on your own to understand how to hold mallets and what to do when you have deal with the quick part of the melody. Additionally, my friend-musician, who also tried to play this drum, said that note B was not tuned properly.Maybe this drum will be OK for someone who wants to take a steel drum class.
